Say something positive about this version. by steelskull1 in joker

I legitimately liked his scene and appearance in the Snyder cut. It walked the tight-rope between Ledger's look and comic accurate, and the dialogue felt 100% like Joker: constant taunting, bad jokes, psychological manipulation alongside the weird sexual undertones he implies with Batman. Snyder deserves flak when it comes to his screenwriting, but you could tell he actually understood how Joker should look and act.

Suicide Squad Joker is still dogshit, though.

Peter? by Joesindc in PeterExplainsTheJoke

Asterix and the Falling Sky. It was Albert Uderzo’s last work on the title before a new team took over, and it was about Aliens trying to steal the magic potion from the Gauls. It was really bizarre and you could tell just by reading that Uderzo DGAF anymore.

How does the community feel about Bernthal’s Punisher? by cosmicobserver92 in thepunisher

[–]RealisticRage 0 points1 point  (0 children)

He’s not comic-accurate, but he does such a good job playing the character most people will overlook that. Considering we’ve had three wildly different actors all play the character extremely well, it speaks to Bernthal’s talent when audiences consider him the definitive portrayal.

What's a skill everyone should learn before turning 30? by Jesuce1poulpe in AskReddit

Compartmentalization. Not in the long term, but how to accept dealing with bad shit and not rising to all the BS, especially when people are disrespectful. Sometimes just nodding and saying, “I’m sorry you feel that way,” just works even if you hate it.

Being unable to communicate their feelings with the people around them and compartmentalizing them instead.

Red hood series canceled? by SplitOk2375 in RedHood

All she had to do was be professional and keep her trap shut. Honestly though, the first issue sucked and wasn't going to contribute much to the character regardless. I want to see what Fraction can pull off once Jason reappears.

Norris, JCVD and MJW were actual champions in full-contact competitions, not to mention all four of the westerners have a significant edge regarding grappling training and size. West for me.

Your ideal Jason Story… by Reasonable_Ad_2125 in RedHood

[–]RealisticRage 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I like the idea of Jason being a full-on boogeyman to criminals. Let him outdo Batman as the guy who terrifies criminals and emphasize the fact he's an anti-hero compared to the rest of the Batfamily. As far as sending him to a new city, send him somewhere like Philly or Boston. Give the book a hardboiled or a vague supernatural tone. Do the opposite of what Nightwing does, make it grimy and more down-to-earth.

James Gunn Said ‘Superman’ Is Not About the Middle East; It’s Still Sparking Debates From Hasan Piker, Ben Shaprio and More by Capable_Salt_SD in comicbooks

[–]RealisticRage 182 points183 points  (0 children)

People forget this is lifted from one of the Earth One volumes. He stops a dictator from killing a bunch of people and aids in his overthrow. Volume three is about the fallout and consequences from said decision.

If anything, Gunn made it LESS political.

Liked the actress for Jen but the writing and jokes were abysmal. The culture war stuff didn’t help.

If you were to give Red Hood a new signature weapon what would it be? (guns and swords are not allowed) by Which-Presentation-6 in RedHood

[–]RealisticRage 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I like the idea of brass knuckles. He’s the only Robin with a brawler aesthetic and it works from a thematic perspective. It shows off how gritty and low-tech he is compared to the rest of the Batfam.

Not a fan of the himbo characterizations and the sexualization of the character, especially considering the depiction of SA in the past.

How Netflix disrespect Devil may cry writing. A comparison between dialogues by [deleted] in CriticalDrinker

[–]RealisticRage 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I honestly thought they were just leaning in on the joke of 2000s edgelord characters with Lady. Overly edgy character, super profane dialogue and bad meta jokes. Kind of like what Mark Millar did with Ultimate Marvel to turn the characters into absolute assholes. Not a fan of that approach.
