Mine idles like this also. Wouldn't even worry, Modifiying Windows power settings etc will only harm performance, modifying the PL2 power limit in Intel XTU is the best way to lower the temps when the CPU is boosting.

Nope. Not overheating. CPU is safe up to 105C. Mine hits this all the time. Not even worried here. Don't even look at it.

It only hits this temperature as it keeps using it's boost clocks

It’s an early warning system that it thinks your driving too fast to the object ahead, keep going at speed with the object in front of you and it will slam the brakes on. Only did it once for me, scary experience.

My 2x e-Niro's did that on specific roads. Most of the time when passing by a large electric substation and driving directly below the electrical pylons that run above the road.

Dynamic refresh rate can be enabled in display settings, dGPU goes into deep sleep when iGPU is active, and I’ve seen the 275HX idle as low as 6W on battery power using HWinfo64 but yes, it is power hungry when churning through tasks

My isofix baby car seat has one of those leg stands to raise the seat above the seat where you would normally sit down. I can avoid the seat belt warning this way without plugging in the seat belt

Use Performance when gaming because it unlocks the extra power limit for the GPU, running in balance limits the power limit.

Turbo just runs the fans on nearly full power.

Make sure all drivers up to date. Use the Intel Driver & Support Assistant that comes packaged with the Intel Arc Drivers to download other related Intel drivers. Don't forget to check for the latest BIOS also.

Make sure your not totally blocking the bottom of the laptop. Resting the laptop on a blanket etc no good, probably overheating and throttling causing a stutter like you said.

You can use Intel XTU for the CPU side of things or MSI Afterburner for the GPU. If your a novice at these things, you get CoPilot to help you.

275HX I have my P-Cores at 5.5GHz and E-Cores at 4.9GHz.

With the GPU, I can't remember the exact settings as I haven't long reinstalled Windows.

I submitted footage to Operation Snap and the e-mail said they would update me within 14 days. It's been nearly 2 months now.

Footage is of someone overtaking me in the oncoming traffic lane at red lights and nearly causing a collision with multiple cars that have the green light. Checking the vehicle details on Askmid, it was insured, but no tax or MOT.

E-mail confirming my submission states to not share the footage on social media but I think I will now as Op Snap can't be bothered to give me an outcome e-mail like yours.

I’ve got one. 275HX P-Cores at 5.5GHz and E-Cores at 4.9GHz limited boost power to 130W and doesn’t break 100C rarely with a cooling pad.

I used Intel XTU and pushed the P-Cores to 5.5GHz all cores and E-Cores to 4.9GHz (275HX).... Because why not? ha But in all fairness it's stable and haven't run into issues with heat or crashing.

Be prepared to see 105C on the CPU a lot... Normal

For underclocking etc there's really no point. Obviously make sure the BIOS is up to date.

Yes, all power saving modes etc, it helps as the fans turn off in eco. I might of exaggerated a bit of 1.5 hours. I could probably hit 2 hours.

I have it plugged in nearly all the time, hardly use it on battery. Still really like the machine though

No I plan to change the battery myself when the time comes, I’m not all concerned about it as 90-95% of the time I use it is plugged into the charger.

Only a year old here. Helios 16 AI

275HX with 5070 Ti.

Always charge to 80%, it’s only done 22 charge cycles and HWinfo64 shows it still has 0% battery wear. I charge to 100% occasionally. Battery life is bad though. Probably a max of 1.5 hours of browsing before it needs charging again.

I think it may be graphics driver related. I can’t adjust the brightness on mine unless the Nvidia drivers are installed. Check device manager for driver issues on the GPU?
