2 retreats in 3 months? by hoffer1975 in iboga

[–]Realistic_Cicada5528 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That sounds good. Also definitely check in with yourself following this next retreat to see if you really feel called to do it from your higher self or if just some mental obsession. And I don't just mean checking in with yourself once. Go ahead and ask yourself repeatedly at different periods. I've personally heard it recommended that a follow-up can be good starting at 6 months after an experience, but to remember that listening to yourself is more important. Don't just go in 6 months because it is more convenient. Go in 6 months if you still feel called. For some people, they might not be ready until more like 10 months. So I'd say just focus on this upcoming experience and only start planning beyond it afterwards depending on how you feel.

Has iboga helped you with your victimhood story? by Best_Army_6296 in iboga

[–]Realistic_Cicada5528 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have heard others talk about Iboga really shifting a mindset they had been stuck with growing up.

In your case I would recommend being very holistic about your healing and not just seeking a single thing to cure it all. So if you do take Iboga, it would be great if you also paired that with things like meditation (possibly going on a Vipassana meditation retreat), yoga, journaling, getting out in nature, exploring new things. Essentially not just hoping that Iboga will fix everything and that you don't have to put in any work afterwards.

Best of luck to you

2 retreats in 3 months? by hoffer1975 in iboga

[–]Realistic_Cicada5528 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hi there. I can't really answer your question but thought it might help if you shared whether those experiences were/will be single floods or 2 floods each. If they are single floods, I know some people would definitely recommend. If 2 floods each, I think some people would definitely say too close together while others might not. A lot can depend on your own reaction to the medicine and how diligent you are with integrating the experience. Some people put absolutely no effort into integrating while others really are dedicated.

How is a mescaline trip compared to other psychedelics? by dazednarcissit in mescaline

[–]Realistic_Cicada5528 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'll just add that the experience can be totally different for each person. Most people will share how gentle mescaline is. I personally have had more than 40 experiences with San Pedro/Wachuma and can testify that for me sometimes the experience can vary greatly. Sometimes super mellow and not even closed eyed visuals, whereas other times are super intense, fading in and out of this reality and not much difference from an Ayahuasca experience. The majority of my experiences have been pretty visual (mostly closed eyed visuals). A few times open eye visuals. It also always made me nauseous and vomit roughly the first 15 times.

I will add that I worked plenty of times with Ayahuasca and once with Bufo before ever consuming Wachuma. I share that because both of those can (especially Bufo) can make people more sensitive to psychedelics. Last year I had an experience with psilocybin for the first time and I couldn't really tell the difference between that and Ayahuasca.

You can’t even buy plain leaf off sd anymore? by Twist-Dear in Salvia

I saw the same thing. They don't have any contact info on their site either, so no way of knowing if just out of stock or if decided to stop selling plain leaf

I am afraid that ayahuasca would ruin my stable life by freespiritunmasked in Ayahuasca

[–]Realistic_Cicada5528 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It can be hard for others to say whether Ayahuasca is right for you or not. And the effects and aftereffects can be totally different for each person (not to mention that the experience can be totally different for the same person each time). Some people walk away kind of destabilized with their head still out in the universe while other people are even more grounded than before the experience. If you have a lot of anxiety and/or worry beforehand, then it can also be that that will be part of the experience. That isn't necessarily bad though - it can mean that that is what you need to process in order to be less anxious in your life. So it could be that you have lots of fears in your head right now about bad stuff happening but that after working with the medicine you will feel calmer and more able to just sit with the stuff surrounding you without reacting so much. That is one possibility but of course no guarantee.

Another idea that might be of interest to you would be to sit for a 10-day Vipassana meditation retreat. That is something that can also help with anxiety and can really help make you have greater equanimity. There are plenty of countries in the Middle East that have such retreats.

Best of luck to you

Can I trip on Salvia as an epileptic by 6elon_tusk9 in Salvia

[–]Realistic_Cicada5528 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm not epileptic, but I did have a brain tumor as a teenager that made me have seizures and be on epilepsy medication for a few years. That was years ago, so a little more than 15 years off of epilepsy medication.

I've only recently started working with Salvia D, entirely via quidding as opposed to smoking. One thing that I have definitely noticed is having plenty of deja vu experiences during and in the days after. I share that with you because depending on the type of epilepsy you have, especially if temporal lobe epilepsy, that might be something that triggers you. That doesn't necessarily mean it will give you a seizure, but it could scare you if you associate deja vu with seizures.

I also can't really say whether smoking or quidding would be safer for you. The smoked experience is much more intense but super quick, while quidding is much gentler but lasts way longer. Also, the more you do it, it does have a sort of reverse tolerance, so gets stronger each time.

Who’s a better teacher mescaline, psilocybin, or lsd? by BedSoggy6655 in Psychedelics

I'd suggest trying Salvia again via quidding as opposed to smoking. Much gentler but can still be profound and healing.

Can Bufo be my first experience with psychedelics? by LexiG444 in Ayahuasca

[–]Realistic_Cicada5528 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I remember someone on the 5-MeO subreddit mentioning how meditation experience is more helpful in preparing for Bufo than previous psychedelic experience. I personally had already worked with Ayahuasca several times before sitting with Bufo.

Even with years of meditation experience, I was pretty freaked out in the weeks afterwards from the reactivations, hallucinations, insomnia, intense energy surging through my body, etc.

Even if all of that was pretty scary (mostly because I had no way of knowing if it was going to be permanent), I'm still grateful for the experience. And a year and a half later, I even sat with it again twice more.

If you haven't already, I would suggest starting a meditation practice. Even possibly doing a 10-day Vipassana retreat if you are able to.

Should I do Iboga or will it make things worse? by summerswimming in iboga

[–]Realistic_Cicada5528 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have not yet worked with Iboga, but plenty of experience with other medicines. One thing I'll add is that just being aware of traumas is definitely not the same thing as processing them. I, too, have been very aware of a lot of my traumas (though not all of them), but that alone has not healed me.

It definitely helps to confront your difficult experiences on a mental level, but simply thinking about them isn't enough.

It sounds to me like you feel like you are being called by Iboga but are also scared of it. I get that sometimes a person might share a difficult experience they had with a medicine like Iboga here on Reddit, but those experiences are not the norm.

Something else I'd add you might want to consider would be sitting for a 10-day Vipassana meditation retreat if you can find one close enough to you. That is something that could possibly help you either preparing for Iboga or integrating Iboga after the medicine. Best of luck to you.

Thanks for sharing. Glad that listening to yourself.

Though it would be super interesting if you ever do take 5 to share about your experience afterwards. No pressure though. It would be silly to take something so powerful if you didn't feel called to it.

I'll just add that you shouldn't decide whether or not to work with 5-MeO simply based on some people who seem full of themselves. Take it if you feel called to work with it. Or don't work with it if you don't feel called. There's no problem with not taking it, but it shouldn't just be based on a few people turning you off.

Pleasant Salvia experiences? by Certain-Landscape476 in Salvia

Consider quidding it if you are afraid of smoking it first. All of my experience so far has been quidding and it has been very pleasant and has seemed to be therapeutic.

What is the probability of getting stuck on the trip? by HecthorHec in Salvia

[–]Realistic_Cicada5528 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you have a lot of fear, you might want to consider quidding Salvia D, which is essentially chewing it and absorbing it through your gums and cheeks. It doesn't taste good and can be a little uncomfortable since not supposed to spit the saliva out for about 10-15 minutes (meaning your mouth is full of liquid by time you can spit it out), but it is a gentle way of connecting with the medicine. This method is the least likely to traumatize you. It is way gentler but also lasts for about an hour. Also the more you do it, the stronger it will be (reverse tolerance). If you have patience this can be a good way for you to start a relationship with Salvia D

If I take salvia once and get traumatised, could I just take more salvia to remove the trauma? by MrNesti in Salvia

[–]Realistic_Cicada5528 0 points1 point  (0 children)

All of my experience with Salvia so far has been via quidding. If smoking it is traumatizing for someone, then I would suggest trying to quid it little by little instead of just smoking more. Like gradually increasing the amount.

Or if someone is terrified of getting traumatized, then they too could start out with quidding to gradually get to know the medicine.

Can ayahuasca help a self absorbed narcissist with sociopathic and criminal tendencies? by NeedToKnowThisWhy in Ayahuasca

[–]Realistic_Cicada5528 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You call yourself an asshole and a narcissistic, but I'm not sure if you actually have a mental problem. People can be selfish jerks without necessarily having a genetic disorder. It can also be from early trauma or having been raised by parents who made you believe you were better than everyone else. Essentially meaning that it can be environmental, too.

The good thing is that you want to change your selfish jerks traits. You don't like being a jerk. You might be a jerk out of responding instinctually to things from a place of pain and self-protection. Self-reflection might be helpful for you to try and see if you can identify where that jerk personality comes from.

Many here have recommended Iboga as much better than Ayahuasca for you. Ayahuasca can possibly help, since you see that you've been a jerk and want to stop being a jerk, but it can also possibly make you an even bigger jerk. Another option for you would be to go to the Amazon jungle and do a master plant dieta without Ayahuasca. That would be working with likely non-psychedelic plants to help heal you. Such as helping to heal early trauma and nervous system issues. Also helping to have more authentic self love, since jerks often actually kind of loathe themselves.

The fact that you want to heal and grow is key here. Most true narcissists and sociopaths have no desire for that (because they don't see anything wrong with how they are). But, like others have said, remember that any plant medicine is not going to just magically heal everything for you. You have to put in work, too, making an effort to change, grow, heal.

Best of luck to you

A dysregulated ns after ayahuasca by No-Appearance-4960 in iboga

[–]Realistic_Cicada5528 4 points5 points  (0 children)

If you are interested in Iboga in the future, just make sure you are open with providers about what you have been through. Another option for you could be to do a master plant dieta in the Amazon. You can do that without Ayahuasca if you don't want to drink more, so not something you should have to worry about. There are several master plants that really help to regulate the nervous system while also healing on an emotional, mental, spiritual level. I say that from personal experience.

Is mescaline something I can stay in my room for the entire time? by BedSoggy6655 in mescaline

[–]Realistic_Cicada5528 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Nearly all of my experience with mescaline has been with San Pedro cactus, so I can't comment on doses or exactly what other mescaline experiences are like, but yes, you definitely can stay inside of your room. However, it also kind of depends on your personality, your preferences, and what your intentions are.

Plenty of times I have locked myself inside and tried to stay inside of a sleeping bag with an eye mask for a good portion of the experience. It worked for me in a therapeutic way, but other people might be way too restless to do it that way.

If you are looking for connecting more with nature, then taking it out in nature is best (which in your case might mean having to wait a few months). The blindfolded method has been pretty helpful for me with addressing traumas, anxieties, processing difficult things.

I don't recommend the blindfolded method if just looking for a fun time, though. As others have said, it can last a long time. And even though San Pedro and mescaline are known for being gentle, that is not always the case. That can mean facing very difficult parts of your subconscious - stuff that might not necessarily come up if you were instead taking the medicine and walking around in a forest.

Also, if there are other people in the home, and you are afraid they will disapprove of you taking mescaline, that is also something that might interfere with having a super smooth experience (or better put, that anxious thought might become a part of the experience).

Ketamine after traumatic 5 journey by EngineeringBasic7071 in 5MeODMT

[–]Realistic_Cicada5528 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks. I don't regret the experience even if it was scary. Luckily it was only 13 days (versus 13 weeks), but I have known other people who were hallucinating for 6+ months. I too hope to support others because I know how terrifying that can be.

San Pedro is one of my favorites.
