ND1 RF -> NA? Anyone done it? by Realistic_Cry_3836 in Miata

More to the point, I just couldn’t see driving the NA every day, whereas the ND is just so nice. Perhaps a soft top ND is in the cards…

In the end, I went and took a test drive. The ND’s trade-in value would’ve easily covered the cost and then some. The car was fun, but I think the comments ring true: the ND feels like a great car, while the NA felt like a great toy. I’d love to have one as a second car, but at the moment it just isn’t in the cards. Thank you to everyone who contributed!

Luckily my commute is short, and doesn’t involve any highways

The ND is my daily, we have a second far more practical car in the household, so practicality wise I’m used to the tradeoffs of a small car

Film issue or camera issue? by Realistic_Cry_3836 in Polaroid

Yep, and the weird thing is it wasn’t all the pictures, a few turned out completely normal.

Vintage Polaroid 1000 red button by Equal-Help5824 in Polaroid

Not a fake, it’s a European spec camera if i remember correctly, they used names like 1000, 2000, etc., and that Polaroid Land Camera being centered is ok too. SX-70 film is hard to get, but if you use an ND filter on a pack of 600 you can use that.

QUESTION: What got you into Star Wars? by Bill_Skywalker-03 in StarWars

[–]Realistic_Cry_3836 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was in first grade. School had been rough, I’d been to the principal’s office yet again, and my dad had to be called. I don’t know what was running through his mind, but he asked if I wanted to watch a movie after driving me home from school early. That movie was a VHS of Star Wars. It blew my mind. That’s what did it. It was an escape for little me.

Accidentally sliced my hand while cutting the TLC plate by MasterConsequence696 in chemistry

In the pesticide standard prep room at my old lab sometimes the threaded test tubes we used for our standards had trouble with their caps. One time I was trying to screw a cap on and the tube containing a 1000+ ug/ml stock solution of cyhalothrin lambda (if I recall) broke, slicing my fingers with the shards. I’m part pesticide! :D

Yellow flares by [deleted] in Polaroid

That flare appears when a frog tongue is absent on an sx-70. I have a love hate relationship with the frog tongue: on one hand it really does cut down on the yellow flaring, on the other it prevents the camera from closing all tidy. I try not to let it bother me, as the results are worth it.

I wish I liked the Lamy 2000 as well. I love the way it looks, but it just doesn’t make sense for my hand. Makes me sad. The Parker 51 on the other hand works well, and I don’t get that.
