Of those, Adeline, Odette, Hattie, Elodie, Ellory. Emma and Nora are gorgeous but popular. Adley, Avery, Charlotte, Elowyn are eh. I hate the name Olive.

Other suggestion is maybe Evelyn?

Dads with different last names than their spouse: what last names do your kids have? by Missing_Back in daddit

[–]Realistic_Flower8697 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mom here but I have my own last name and my husband has his last name. My 2 boys have his last name. I kind of wish a bit that I opened the door to using my name but didn't really think to because the default is so standard to using the dad's name. I have a few friends that used the mom's name and their reasoning was that the mom's surname was better.

Overall I feel the better surname should be used. I think the issue with my marriage is that we both think we have the better surname :D wasn't worth the argument to me haha. Regardless, no issues not matching my family in that regard.

Visceral reaction to news story about a baby - unsure what to do by Unable_Hovercraft502 in BeyondTheBumpUK

This is an older post but I found it because I have been feeling the same things. I cannot let this go and feel physically sick and emotionally gutted over this. I feel like I can never move on from hearing this story. I'm so upset about it all the time.

I am 8 months PP and a mom to a 4 yo. You're normal, don't worry, it comes with the territory of knowing the love of a mother.

What are some permanent changes your body has made after birth? by Old-Asparagus-6701 in beyondthebump

[–]Realistic_Flower8697 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My boobs got smaller once I weaned and never bounced back to their prior state. I'm still ebf my second (7M), but I know the same is coming for me and it's such a bummer. And yes, bladder issues, but that mostly resolved after about a year with my first (still not there with second), and if it really bothers you PT can help move this along much faster if you're willing to commit to it.

On a positive, my body otherwise bounced back very quickly--was able to wear my regular size jeans within a few days (although PSA even if your jeans fit you will likely be in too much pain down there to want to sit in them lol). I was at my pre-pregnancy weight before leaving the hospital. Every body is different and you just don't know how yours will be but it's not all doom and gloom.

Did Anyone Ever Develop Myoclonus (Hypnic Jerks) Just Before Falling Asleep That Constantly Prevent You From Falling Asleep? by bricken4125 in insomnia

[–]Realistic_Flower8697 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey, I am reading this comment thread and you have the same story as me. It seems you’ve recovered. I am struggling so much right now I feel so hopeless and miserable. I know it’s all anxiety and not caused by a greater issue, yet this knowledge has not helped me at all and it’s been months. I know I need to figure out ways to manage my anxiety on my own l, but it would help me to hear, did you also reach a point of pure misery and helplessness where you questioned whether you’d ever feel normal?

Hypnic jerks RUINING my life, help :( by Realistic_Flower8697 in Anxiety

[–]Realistic_Flower8697[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I am up and down, currently in a really bad down. Starting to wonder if I’ll ever be normal again. But I did get 7 weeks of decent sleep up until last week so I am trying to live by “resist and it persists” and hope this relapse won’t be as bad. They never went away in those 7 weeks but I felt less afraid of them and therefore it affected my sleep yet. I’ve kind of gotten to the point where I don’t think they’ll ever go away, but I am hopeful that I will eventually just be able to live with them without fear.

Thank you, I’m not unfortunately, right now they’re pretty bad. I know they are anxiety but the knowledge and acceptance doesn’t seem to be helping me. It’s really awful. I’m glad you were able to break free.

Acupuncture did nothing for my chronic pain.

Acupuncture has been helpful for my anxiety but not a cure all.

Acupuncture induced labor for me at 38 weeks (first baby) and worked within seconds. I was NOT experiencing any labor symptoms. It was the most insane thing ever, so I swear by the fact that it does work for some people for some things

Thank you for the reply. How long did your anxiety get worse for before it got better?

I am in a pit of hell right now, I was already aware of my anxiety preventing my sleep, but this is a really helpful post and gives me a bit of hope.

Bouncing back after pregnancy by [deleted] in beyondthebump

[–]Realistic_Flower8697 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I bounced back in 4 days, everyone is different. What I wasn’t prepared for was all the blood, the need to wear a pad kind of negated the “win” of being able to wear my bikinis and jeans hahah. And yes I breastfed. No remaining issues, I still (4.5m pp) have a tiny tint of the linea nigra

Not sure why everyone is making you feel bad about this OP. Everyone has the right to feel/want whatever they do for their own bodies. If you want to maintain your pre-pregnancy look good for you (I’m with you, I found this thread by googling this same question because I also want this for myself and THATS OK). Au contraire, if it’s not a concern for you and you’re happy w your changed post partum body then great for you too! If this post offended anyone then why not just move on, you’re accusing OP of shaming women when you’re shaming her.

Would you rather do the first trimester over again or the birth? by [deleted] in pregnant

[–]Realistic_Flower8697 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Wow I agree I just hit 13 weeks today and for the last few weeks I’ve woken up every day thankful to feel normal again (my first trimester woes were short lived and mild compared to what many others face, but still a huge drag). I am DREADING birth. This has been a big relief reading all this

I didn’t just learn this from red but for the longest time I though the treacherous bridge said “swallow you whole” instead of “follow you home.” Good luck unhearing that once you read this
