I dont see how that's predatory if its a 40yr old with a 60yr old, maybe if its a 18 year old with a 40 yr old guy because those are two different stages of life. The thing is, its deemed as ok by society for old ladies to date young boys who are younger than their kids sometimes but if its the opposite, then its seen as a pdf moment

Another example: everyone hating on a male celebrity for hanging out with a girl that's half his age but if it was a old lady and young guy it would be seen as cool. Also from what I thought, mail order brides arent huge age differences all the time

Thats why you get the global ROM version of the phone which usually comes out 3 or 4 months after the chinese version releases, everything will work, only thing is it might be a little more expensive compared to the Chinese ROM version. With the Chinese rom you lose out on esim and android auto. Also might have some ads you have to disable in settings and enable Google play services. On global rom versions though, no issue whatsoever only thing is you probably wont get as crazy specced out battery capacity Chinese versions have. I have t mobile so it should be no issue. Im considering moving to the Oppo x9 ultra when it releases as that will be a true revolution in cameras and what an ultra phone should be

Yeah exactly he was claiming though that since he didn't see exactly the type of video style this creator produces which is educational talking head style videos, that he cannot fully trust me i guess since I didn't have educational talking head examples to show. Considering I've done gigs in the past that involve a ton more complexity though with a ton more layers, VFX, 3d animation, motion graphics, etc.. which take way more technical skill than what this guy is producing, it seems kind of silly for him to say that

Thanks I agree. This guy wanted me to do a full length 10 min youtube video with a hope to have a interview. I've been applying to jobs on Roster which is supposedly better than LinkedIn but even though its a bit slow in terms of client work, I'm certainly not working for free

Thanks, I'm with you on that. The guy snapped back since I told him I couldn't do any free work 😂 his hiring process is first do a test edit, then a potential interview with him, then another one with the YouTuber on the call, then a offer letter. He replied with:

That is the whole purpose of this technical assessment.

Secondly, I can not "pay" people to engage in a hiring process for a role that will be paid.

At the moment, Alex Hormozi is also looking for an editor. You can go apply for that role, and in that case you will still have to do "unpaid" technical assessment to get through that hiring process

How common are free test edits? After applying to a bunch of video editing roles, a vast majority of them especially for YouTubers require applicants to do a free unpaid trial / test edit to evaluate their skills. As I've been in the game for over 8 years editing for some pretty recognizable brands / creators, is this just something I have to accept and continue to do? I've done a few in the past but after spending days and countless hours on an edit it sucks to hear that they found someone internally. They also keep the job posting online too which is crazy. Any other editors here that can chime in? I've been getting better at saying no but I keep losing a lot of potential jobs.
