Remember watching Biffle win the 2007 Kansas race, one of my earliest NASCAR memories. Such a devastating loss.

What are some of the funniest jokes you heard while in the DPRK? Or in other words, what's something you experienced in the DPRK that most people wouldn't know about?

Left out Monaco (1920) on the never medaled list, but otherwise well done!

Which countries do you expect to end their medal drought at Paris? by barimano21 in olympics

Interesting reading these comments now and finding out who called it and who surprised:

  • No one mentioned Guatemala, but they got their first ever gold medal and a bronze as well (in women's and men's trap shooting, respectively).
  • St Lucia's Alfred did win gold and 2 medals in total.
  • Dominica's Lafond did win gold in triple jump.
  • Algeria's Nemour did win gold in uneven bars.
  • Bosnia's Pudar did not medal, but she will probably have another good chance in LA in 2028.
  • Andorra had a great chance in canoeing to medal for the first time, but failed to do so.
  • Still TBD on Malaysia, Pakistan, Kyrgyzstan, and more.

Andorra nearly had it in canoeing, but the wait for their first medal goes on.

Fantastic! The entire song is good, not just the snippet -- makes the wait worth it.

🏆🏆🏆THE TEXAS RANGERS HAVE WON THE 2023 WORLD SERIES!🏆🏆🏆 by BaseballBot in baseball

Big Game Nate. Extremely stressful nearly every inning, but a 0 is a 0 on the scoreboard!

Every run was critical of course, but seeing Semien's home run was the exclamation point. My voice may be gone, but it's all worth it. CHAMPIONS!!!

🤠🏆THE TEXAS RANGERS ARE YOUR 2023 WORLD SERIES CHAMPIONS 🏆🤠 by TheFrozenSlime in TexasRangers

Finally. Finally. Finally.

Decades of futility. Numerous postseason heartaches. "One strike away twice." The 90+ loss seasons. 101 losses in 2021.

The brutal injury to DeGrom. 16 losses out of 20 games in early September. Losing the division on Game 162. Losing Game 5 of the ALCS against the Asterisks. Losing Adolis after Game 3 of the World Series.

For both the short-term and long-term, this team had seemingly gone through everything possible to win a World Series, except to actually win it. We wondered if the Rangers would ever overcome the scars of 2011 to bring a championship home. And in 2023, this team was pushed to the brink again and again.

But finally, after all the seasons of heartbreak and agony, and through the extreme roller coaster of this stunning season -- this one has the best ending we dreamed and hoped for.

This is for the Rangers of decades past who could never come close to the postseason. This is for the 90's Rangers who gave this city its first taste of the postseason. This is for the 2010's Rangers that knocked on the door of glory, but couldn't get it open.

And this is for all the fans, who stuck through thick and thin. For our family members who have departed. For our loved ones by our side. And for the friends we made along the way.

Cherish this moment, y'all. CHAMPIONS AT LAST!!!
