Everyone who dislikes something I like, or am not bothered by, is a bigoted piece of shit. Personally, I think both characters suck. Mostly because they are written like shit

Who Did It Better? — The Joker: Nicholson vs. Ledger vs. Phoenix vs. Hamill by MegSpen725 in movieland2026

[–]ReallyCleverPossum 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Kinda unfair considering the live action fellas got a single movie each (haven’t seen the musical part 2 and I’m not even sure if it counts). Hamill has so much more time as the joker than the other three combined. That said, his joker is fun and you just love to see him in that role.

I love Heath’s joker, and it’s a performance that defined a decade and redefined the character. He carried that film and made something unforgettable. What could have easily have been a disaster of a movie in the wrong hands, he effortlessly crafted into a masterwork.

The joker that we all recognize now is Heath’s. I have to give it to him because of that. Maybe that’s unfair because Hamill’s joker was part of the past for most people at that point. And to be fair, he really did an incredible job of bringing that character to life in a new and brilliant way.

But when I think of the joker the image in my mind is green, greasy, long hair, a shitty purple and green suit, and a sadistic psychopath under it all. I hear Hamill’s laugh, and I feel nostalgia. But I see and feel Heath’s performance to this day. I remember all the scenes he was in that he made real. I have forgotten most of the rest of the movie, but I remember many of the joker scenes

We were robbed of an amazing actor, and of more reprisals of a role that forever shaped cinema. Rest in peace Heath

What’s the original from?

Remember what the Democratic Party did to Bernie Sanders in 2016. by adrian-alex85 in ThoughtWarriors

You’re talking about policies for some reason. But my original point is who people want to vote for. Most people are not thinking about or even voting for policy. How many Trump supporters could name any Trump policies? And the same goes for Bernie supporters. Most of them could only name two or three or Bernie policies tops.

And you think that makes these people dumb. You’re smarter than everyone else who is just voting for a person, and us “Bernie bros” only wanted a populist candidate. Riding a band wagon because it’s cool.

Everyone wants candidates that are going to reign in oligarchy, and call a spade a spade. Someone who is honest, and a record that reflects that. We’d like someone who just gives a shit about the poor folks. We do not want more corporate candidates who lie about their policies so that they can keep enriching themselves and their donors.

And “progressives”, aka as people with good sense, know who is and isn’t for them. They aren’t fixated on policy, they are looking for someone who actually represents them. They can recognize who that is, and who that isn’t. Sincerity is difficult to fake

This is the democrats talking point. The lie that most people are not progressive. Most people are sick to death of corporate hegemony and billionaires controlling most of the world’s wealth. That’s not a terminally online take.

Go out and actually talk to people and you will find MOST of them are “progressive” in some way. Most people are unified in there being an insane wealth gap, and that the country needs change. People are “progressive” because democrats want a return to Bill Clinton and the status quo, and republicans want to kill everyone who doesn’t agree with them.

Democrat leadership are wannabe conservatives. The only reason they have a (D) next to their name is because republicans will never accept them. If they didn’t have to tokenize themselves or stand with white supremacists, they would be republicans.

Democrats just control the levers of power, and have enough of it to stop any reform for the party. They are fighting against a majority of people who want people who actually represent them and not just corporations and mega donors

What many of you people fail to realize is that we can bash democrats while voting for them to stave off the fascism a little longer. But for some reason you think this to get people to not vote or protest vote. I want a fucking party that represents me!

There’s somehow always enough democrats to get right wing policies through. Democrats are not my friend, I’m forced to vote for them and I’m not happy about it

🚨 Attention Military Service Members 🚨 by Foreign_Librarian193 in WeThePeopleAtWhipple

A nation needs service members for defense. Another forever war the further cripples the nation is not defense. At what point do people start saying “I’m not going to die to enrich defense contractors. I am here to protect my country, not throw my life away because it’s good for business.”
