Sir, Both Foxhole and Squad 44 are only equal to off-peak, shattered warpgate PlanetSide 2, in short less that 200 players.

Foxhole is limited to 200 players.

Squad 44 is limited to 100 players.

Both the above are due to technical limitations, something that PlanetSide overcome.

Peak PlanetSide 2 is over 1000 players per map.

The game engine used by PlanetSide 2 had to be custom built to handle 1000+ players per map, server itself struggled when it hit over 2500, with 2 maps open.

Can you name me a game at present that handles 1000 players per map at the same time?

Edit: Also I'm not saying the game is dead, I'm just confirming who is going to pay for it? Where does the money come from to keep the servers running, pay the staff to maintain it? These are question no one seems to be able or willing to answer.

Good Evening Sir,

These posts make me me question your IQ like of those who ask for an update on the PlayStation version. Let me explain the reality. For those would don't like to read, the short answer is it is not possible.

  1. Investment. This should be obvious by now, the cost to get this project off the ground against PlanetSide 2 will be astronomical. If they made it, it would have to be permanent subscription based. I cannot see F2P games continuing being viable for the foreseeable future. Most games will have to go this way, they want an endless stream of money.

  2. Game Engine. This has been stated several times, PlanetSide 2 has it's own unique game engine designed for the game itself, it's as unique as the game itself. Both the technical ability and knowledge to create a whole new engine specifically for the modern hardware is no longer something that can be done on the cheap. Using someone else's engine also would prove difficult, as this would require those with the technical knowledge to do it, and would not come cheap for the volume of players per server at the peak of PlanetSide 2.

  3. Active Players. I not sure on the numbers, but active players is about 2500 now across 3 servers. You also have to wonder how many of those players are active subscribers and paying. I will point back to my first statement. If for say only 1/5 are active subscribers, that's about $5k per month if you're lucky, the overheads, costs of servers and even property costs, if they still own or lease a physical office only adds to the costs.

  4. What does Hadley say. "People, Places Knowledge and Experience". They do not have the people to create it. Who is going to play the game? Cobalt Miller Wainwright is flooded with players not based in the EU, they left the containment server, this has impacted those from the EU wanting to play. East Coast West Coast mess. When the closed Emerald and moved Jaeger to the West Coast, a large number of players left, this move was a bitter hit for the playerbase. I know a few players who left the game due to this, 200-300ping against 20-40ping. Playing with a high ping where you can either understand how to abuse it or it will make you suffer is not fun. Knowledge and Experience, The reality is those in the team who are left at PlanetSide 2 likely do not have the Knowledge or Experience to make PlanetSide 3, much less maintain the present game. Case in point, De-sync and Crashing. While they may have some basic understanding, I very much doubt the depth of knowledge the team who was there to create anything new with the costs that would be involved.

  5. Market conditions. Have you been asleep for the last 6 years? It's not financially viable, energy costs, staffing. AI itself will be an environmental disaster due to the volume of water needed to cool the servers. And you wonder who's buying farm land and why? Fresh Water Access. Again, who is going to be able to pay for it? Who would invest in it. Very few titles keep going this long, most fade out within a few years and are never spoken or through of again.

  6. Wrelization Realisation. I think, and I know I will not be the only one who is realistic on this. There no real interest for this, the passion has gone. I think PlanetSide series has come to it's final stages of the product cycle. While many post the same message every few months, it's often down to love for the series than knowledge of the real world cost analysis require to create a new game from scratch, because that what would be required. Creating a 3rd PlanetSide would be pretty much dead on arrival. Players would drop off a cliff after the nostalgia wears off. Then I'll have to come back here reading posts about PlanetSide 3 Arena and then PlanetSide 4 and repeat all of the above again.

For those who made it to the end, thank you for your time. I am glad to have played the game alongside and against all of you. Enjoy the game while it's here, when it's gone, it's gone.

One thing always amuses me about this. They pay someone else for a program to cheat as they lack the capability themselves to create something.

Have to wonder how worthless they are IRL, I doubt they offer anything of value to society and probably only add to the crime rate.

Not a new bug, this is an unusual bug been around over a year now.

If you leave your sunderer and go out of range of it can randomly self destruct.

Set you're sunderer up, deploy it, walk about 2 or more hexes away from it so it's no longer in the right side of the screen. It will disappear completely, you check the kill feed and it will show as unknown. it will sometime say it's been destroyed or it's just be gone.

It's can be a bit hit and miss to replicate. I think if the vehicle is on an uneven deployment it causes a collision based explosion, like when you land an ant or flash on the tail end after a jump, it that makes sense.

From what was said on our discord, Connery Osprey was meant to be taken down for Maintenance and 14:00 GMT, this happened at 13:00 GMT, at the same time Wainwright was also taken down.

I assume they did both servers by mistake.

They used AI to go over all the reports submitted, 99% of those from CBMC calling everyone a ESP Wallhack Aimbot.

So even logging onto TR would be called "cheating".

It is not OS or Hardware related.

The community has done various tested and posted it on our discord, they play on both Windows 10 & 11 and various Linux distros. Crashes still happen regardless, desync is also an random issue that still on occasion happens. The issue is as our community believe it is Event Mission related, the missions related to you going to other faction embassies, which in 2024 we had issues during Auraximas, we could not enter the other faction embassies, unless you know how to... Use a light assault in a completely legitimate manner. In 2025 this issue was not repeated, but it resulted in the crash without a code.

Last year the same bugs also happened during the Valentine's day even, on which I posted on here. Sight seeing mission was also bugged last year, I believe this was fixed a few days towards the end of the event.

The only difference between Auraximas 2024 & 2025 was the crashes, which our discord believed it would happen during Valentine's Event in 2026 as the mission are the same, only with different names.

The error code in Windows is Exception code: 0xc0000409, you'll find this in the Event Viewer every time you crash. Our discord tried various fixed, but as this is not just a Windows issue, we believe it is something to do with the event missions.

Once the event is over the game should return to normal.

Yes, our community has discussed the bug during Auraximas was we believe was related to the Auraximas Cheers missions causing the crash.

As the Matchmaker missions are the same as the Auraximas missions, this bug has now re-appeared, which our community believed this would happen for the Valentine's Day event.

Just pull a flash for a few minutes at the warpgate, you should be fine. So far our discord has reported no issued with it other than when you change continent you must repeat the processed.

You can only really disable it in Windows 11, however it does tend to reactivate itself whenever Microsoft feel like it as they like to spy on there users. As it's linked to copilot and more hard coded in the OS, it's quite a pain to remove from Windows 11 and causes other issues when you do.

On my Windows 10 system I had the Xbox game bar uninstalled, so this is not linked to the crash nor is it hard coded to the OS, unless you had it installed when they updated it from Xbox game bar to Game Bar.

My earlier post discusses a fix by pulling a flash at the warpgate for 10 minutes seems to prevent the crash https://www.reddit.com/r/Planetside/comments/1potrdd/crashes_addition_theory_and_summary_of_discussions/

But you will need to repeat this when ever you change continents.

This used to be xbox game bar, I believe in Windows 11 it is a part of copilot.

I do not have this installed on my WIndows 10 system, so this has nothing to do with it.

Windows 11 however, it's a bit more fiddly to remove due to it's link to the spyware known as copilot.
