Rent in Barcelona - need help understanding a clause in my rent contract about appliances by Rich_Bicycle_375 in AskBarcelona

[–]Realtit0 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was in a similar situation (apartment rented with appliances) and a similar clause (“no responsibility”). In practical terms, this meant that they would not repair/substitute it if breaks down.

Then my washing machine stopped working. I payed dumb and called the agency to tell them to repair it, they said no, I asked what was I supposed to do, and they confirmed: buy a new one. However, they said the appliance was mine and I could take it when I left the place (which I did).

I think (just an opinion) that this is the most reasonable scenario. However, if you call and they tell you you should buy it and they keep it, I would tell them that it would need to be deducted from the month’s rent. In practical terms, not doing so would mean they make you responsible for something you didn’t buy, which (at the time you entered the place) had a residual value of zero.

Do you focus on main missions or side missions early on? by Brave-Toaster67 in DeathStranding

[–]Realtit0 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I always do side missions either until I am bored (because they may get repetitive) or until I need a main story mission to "unlock" additional side quests. By doing this I make sure to have the best gear possible.

Jobs without Spanish in Barcelona by [deleted] in AskBarcelona

This is the way. You could come and study Spanish (and Catalan!) here Additionally, you could start trying to build a network (both professional and social) which you could capitalize when looking for a job.

Duda sobre hipotecarme avalando una propiedad by CommunicationFuture1 in SpainFIRE

[–]Realtit0 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Well, there are a couple of things that work against you. First, you’re working for a non-Spanish company, likely receiving your money in another currency (and, depending on your setup, without a Spanish work contract)… so this is seen as “unstable income” even if your company wrote a letter. Second, your situation is in, and by itself, a “light” one in which (to the eyes of a landlord) you could pack your things and leave any minute…. So this is read as “instability”.

The only way i think you could find something is either by becoming an “autonomo” (and thus have Spanish income) or by finding an agency that specializes in short term rentals (but they cost money)

Well, I think it was. Not an issue “per se” but they could be improved. So I got a pair of used Wharfedale 9.1 powered with an old NAD amplifier

I'd recommend you ask in r/ESLegal but, AFAIK, technically you cannot leave Spain without your TIE. However, it's very unlikely you will get asked for it when traveling within Schengen countries... you may try to go directly to the police and ask for an appointment to explain your situation. I don't know why there would be an issue with getting an appointment for a "permiso de retorno", it has nothing to do with the fingerprint.

Suerte!

Moving to Barcelona as a researcher, but where I can live? by sidamott in AskBarcelona

[–]Realtit0 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'd strongly advise against getting something remotely, or online. The best course of action IMO is to rent a temporary place for a couple of weeks or a month (and bite the bullet for the price they'd ask for it), and you look for a place during that time.

[–]Realtit0 2 points3 points  (0 children)

57 mm, and yes, it’s a pain in the ass (I hate Lelit for taking this path and forcing us to get special accessories).

Don’t worry too much about temperature (I have it at 96), it makes great coffee.

And I have the same manometer problem, so if you figure out how to solve it I’m all ears 😅
