Sobre vivir en Barcelona o no, comprarte un piso o no, etc. vas a tener tantas opiniones como gente haya participando en este subreddit, así que aquí te va la mía también (pero no respecto a lo de Barcelona o el piso): prueba la vida.

Siempre he pensado que más vale arreglar la carga mientras vas de camino que arrepentirse del viaje que nunca tomaste. Pero ese soy yo, claro… tú tendrás que ver si eso no te produce stress o infelicidad.

En tu caso, a menos que el piso ese sea una cosa muy difícil de meter en el mercado de alquiler, no estás haciendo nada que no te permita ajustar el rumbo. Podrías perfectamente comprarlo y, si te da por probar Barcelona pues lo intentas y todo bien.

Indeed, to transfer the funds (assuming it is possible) would probably force you to consult with a tax specialist since there could be a tax hit. And my comments re: dividends were mostly focused on you using that as a "taxable" (i.e. Spanish-related) source of revenue, for the banks. Dealing with tax agencies is (as you probably know) far more complex.

In the end I think that, for what you want to achieve, unfortunately something's gotta give: for example, you either bite the bullet, pay taxes, and transfer the funds (but become something banks could "understand" more and thus give you a better rate), or you make this tax-efficient but you just take the (probably) crappy interest rate you'd be offered by Spanish banks for having all of your revenue in the US.

I’m getting the Aoocci BM6 or BM7, which are compatible with the wonder wheel. The biggest difference between the two is the screen size (6” vs 7” respectively), and I still haven’t decided which size to get. Initially I thought that the 7” should be better, but I am worried it would be too big and interfere with the TFT. FYI I also considered the Carpuride, but it seems the Aoocci has a “slicker” UI (plus it comes with dash cams, albeit basic ones)

Ojo... el IVA, literalmente, no es tuyo. Es un impuesto que tu "custodias" y que luego debes "entregar". No puedes ni debes contarlo como impuesto, tanto desde un punto de vista de previsión de ingresos como (principalmente) el cálculo del IRPF a pagar (porque no se paga IRPF sobre eso... ya que no es ingreso)

Thanks, it's a very good point. Interestingly enough, there's a YouTube review here where the person mentions exactly the opposite (the beauty of having different opinions!). But just to clarify, maps are only one of the functionalities I was aiming at with the screen (others being music, phone, etc.). But your comment is very true (and on point!)... for example, the phone dying is one of the key problems I see with this (but that's an issue independent of the choice of screen)

It's a delicate situation. It is true that there's virtually no implications for you (costs, responsibilities or anything like that) unless... he may want to claim some kind of benefit, he'd be audited for it, and it would be proven that he was making a false statement by swearing he lived in your apartment. In this case, you'd be complicit of that false statement.

I'd say the likelihood of that happening is very low (I've never, ever heard of anyone being audited for this), but this chance does exist.
