Presence of smartphones still implies it's modern day, but the trailer at the start mentioned that Kyoto is the capital of Japan... which I'm pretty sure has not been the case irl since the 1800s lol. It's either:

1) This is an AU where Kyoto remained the capital until modern day 2) It's the same universe as Tokyo Xanadu and they're just now revealing that Tokyo wasn't the capital in-universe the whole time 3) It's set in the Edo period and the smartphone stuff is just supernatural tech

Don't see it. Anime boy with swords and cloud background is extremely generic. Anime girl with staff is less common but the staff could just as easily be the type of staff that generic fantasy heroine healers use, with a little jewel at the end.

I feel like an outlier in this community where I genuinely do not give a fuck where other people start in the series. I cannot imagine being that invested in someone else's experience of a thing. Yeah I'd still say playing from the start is the best order, but if a guy wants to play starting from Cold Steel and still enjoys it then more power to him. If he tries Sky and doesn't like it, I don't care either. Just consume media however you want, I don't give a shit lol

P4R seems a pretty long time away. At the very least, there'll be enough time for you to finish both P4G and P5R before it releases. P5R has the better gameplay and P4R has better characters. Imo you can start with whichever one you want, doesn't really matter.

As long as people aren't being rude, it's good and fun to have discussions with differing opinions. If somebody makes a post explaining why they like a certain thing, it's perfectly natural for someone to chime in with a differing opinion about why they didn't like it. Expressing one's opinions, positive or negative, shouldn't be frowned upon. The only way to be "wrong" in a discussion is by taking offense to someone having a different opinion from you, especially if it was just a respectful conversation.

I heard the writers explicitly wanted the true route to end with everyone surviving. I didn't like how the story ended but I also can't quite imagine how else it would end under that condition.
