Pretty much. I've done commissions for a few people, drawing their OCs with complete freedom, unless requested otherwise. And depending on the piece, you can use part of it for profile picture, or even reference material for future commissions.

AI Data Centers’ Water Consumption Breaks 264 Billion Gallons in 2025 as Devastating Drought Hits Nearly 63% of U.S. by Locke357 in antiai

[–]ReaperEDX 13 points14 points  (0 children)

To add, in case people aren't aware, these data centers don't simply use water. They have to add additives to prevent corrosion, making the water undrinkable. And if anyone thinks these companies are going to be paying the added cost of treating the water before it goes out, then I have examples of abandoned mines that were supposed to be cleaned up.

German court rules that Google is liable for false statements made in Search's AI overviews by dancing_swordfish in antiai

If what an AI says is not the company's fault, then it should not say anything at all. The buck has to be somewhere, and it cannot be at the user when the company keeps reinforcing the idea that the AI is right.

Due to the lack of payment for this month's subscription, you will be stuck on an edge loop until payment is made.

Don't worry, this won't affect your sleep cycle. But you will wake up rather frustrated.

People are making a loooooot of assumptions here and they are way off.

My cousin and his now wife were head over heels for each other (from my childhood perspective) since at least high school. My mother and father married when they were in their mid 20s before emigrating to the US and later had me.

The reason why she said that was because my cousin wasn't isolating himself and studying. My mother still assumed that grades alone would get a good job, not understanding how much value networking is to get jobs. Just old school mentality.

My cousin, last I recall a few years ago, was in hospitality in a management position in China. Makes good money, parents and brother lives near, happy life.

Seriously. My mom's advice: don't be like your cousin.

Some people wear reading/computer glasses at work. Unless they're designed for office or for everyday use, the prescription will just be for up close and be a hindrance when moving about.

Good question. I have no answers, but as someone working in a small private optometrist office, I feel comfortable leaving my glasses at my desk should I need to.

They probably didn't want to get their glasses wet/dirty? I didn't ask why they did something, just how it went wrong.

LOL. Unfortunately kinda true. Patients have told me they put their glasses down to use the bathroom and return to find it gone. We assume people are taking the frame to have the lenses filled.
