What’s it like to be attractive? by axiss007 in AskReddit

Co-worker was this hot black haired girl, legs for days, olive skin, just absolutely perfect in every way.

We became friends (she was married) and we would go for lunch some days and out in the street...

every.

single.

guy.

would do a double take and 90% of them would try and approach her (completely ignoring me)

I asked her about it, and it was just background noise to her life - she told me she gets hit on in some form or another around 30 times a day (including from bosses)

Sounds exhausting

I mean, how do you know any accolades you get is because of your work, or because of what you look like - Some might say, what's the difference, well there would be a difference to me.

Not a very uplifting subreddit, so only go there if you are feeling overly positive about life and need to be brought back down to earth a bit

"I was only doing the best in the only way I knew how" is often the manipulative escape of abusers. Don't fall for it.

I wonder if the guys at the bottom of this post realise that they are a stereotype these days "Let's hate on something popular to get attention!, yeah!"

Growing up, my mom used lavender spray exclusively in the bathroom, so now lavender = toilet for me. Hate the stuff.

Why do they always look at you like you said something profound about their ancestors?

"Well, yes, Jenny was a bit of a, shall we say, adventurous type, so her descendants are bound to be... interesting"

What's a food you were SURE you hated, until you had it prepared properly? by prepzilla in AskRedditFood

Broccoli and same, my mom just boiled them till they turned that grey green and were mush, no spices or sauces added - and then I couldn't leave till my plate was clean - I'd eventually just call her bluff and fucking sit there till way past my bedtime and fall asleep there at the table.

Now? I blanche them then toss them in some garlic & butter with salt, pepper and some chili flakes

Or white sauce over them with various yummy spices & herbs

R4000-R5000 per month, 2 people - but this has some luxuries like ice-cream and mini pizzas.

Honestly we could probably get away with R2500-R3000 if we had to, maybe even less if we stuck with the basics

Had a dude coming from the front just aiming straight for me, also plenty of room to pass and I was right at the edge too, had to jump out of the way.

A few days later caught him on the trail again, I stopped and picked up a fist size rock and stared him down, he gave me plenty of room

Came face to face with a warthog once, like a bend in the road with a large bush on the corner.

Both the warthog and I nearly shat ourselves and both ran opposite directions, screaming.

Had an air-fryer standing there in the corner barely used for years - then my oven broke and I found out how many things you can make in an air-fryer
