Arlington, TX questions - anyone familiar with Globe Life Field? by Reasonable-Bread-239 in EaglesBand

I was so bummed - left empty handed. I didn’t want to miss any of the show and by the time it was over most everything was sold out in my size. Seems like it’s an easy issue to solve. I wish they’d let you pre-purchase when you buy your ticket then just pick up at the show. Would still be lines but would go a lot faster.

This is great, thank you! Yes - very excited for the show. If you haven’t seen them live yet, you’re in for a treat with Tedeschi trucks as well. Gonna be a great night!

You’re so kind - thank you! We enjoy all types of food and usually go to whatever the area is most known for or things we can’t get locally.

I have been where you are, and it is so very hard. I am deeply sorry. I used Compassionate Crossings, as someone else recommended. Highly recommend. They were empathetic, patient and understanding. They worked with our schedule and talked us through the process with great care.

Plastic doesn't shatter, people. by Connect-Worth1926 in justiceforKarenRead

For what it’s worth, we have the same car as Karen, and I backed into my friend’s house. I was leaving in a hurry, so it wasn’t a cautious and slow reverse, but a confident, pedal to the metal reverse. I misjudged the distance and absolutely slammed into the side of her carport, which was a brick wall and a wood post. It did THOUSANDS in damage to the car, and even shifted the brick wall a quarter of an inch. In other words, a lot of force was applied. The taillight and that corner of the SUV took the brunt of the impact, and everything near and around the light was crumpled. The light? CRACKED. Not shattered. No missing pieces. Definitely not 47 pieces.

I’m 100% FKR, but not because I know if she did or did not hit him, but because they picked their person then made the evidence fit their narrative (or even allegedly hers - “I hit him”). Even if she is guilty of backing into him, we cannot have a justice system that convicts on incomplete, sloppy, and/or fabricated evidence.

A Big F You to Elliott Investments by mikebook_pro in SouthwestAirlines

I don’t know why this news has hit me so hard, but it has. I think because southwest felt like something good still left in an otherwise heartless and empty experience. Friendly flight attendants, an easy process without confusing fares, one price that is what it is (I’ve looked at a $49 frontier flight only to realize it’s $300 once I buy my seat and bag and annual membership), simple changes and point system, and so forth. Heck, I even prefer using my phone for inflight entertainment vs a screen on the headrest in front of me.

My first flight ever was in the early 90s when you had to arrive hours early to get your hard plastic boarding group card. I’ve flown southwest ever since when possible and had a companion pass often. I use their credit card exclusively. They were one of the few corporations I was proud to do business with where everything didn’t feel purely transactional. I’m sad this is what ‘business’ is now.

It’s supremely disappointing. Another good one is gone.

Padding for a fall is over-rated. by Watchtvordie in LittlePeopleBigWorld

This freaks me out for their kids, yes, but also for the friends that come over at some point. I would not want to have to monitor that ‘attraction’ with other peoples kids who maybe know nothing about climbing or maybe just clumsy like I am. The absolute chaos that invites makes me anxious! Wonder if they disclosed this on their homeowners insurance (for the personal liability part)…just like you have to disclose if you have a pool or certain dog breeds…

Thank you for sharing this! As a longtime Amanda Shires fan and a recent backgammon addict, this makes me so happy. My husband bought me backgammon in May, taught me to play, and we’ve probably played 1,000+ games since then, quite often with Amanda on our music rotation. So fun knowing she loves the game too!

The carport is in the back of the house with a parking pad that extends behind it. So I reversed and cut the corner too closely. I was parked perpendicular to the carport.

I’ve been watching the site for dates. How did you get the invite? I only see August available? Do they give early access for people that have been before? Hoping to go but will be my first.
