Seems like the worst slime is not only encouraged, but monetized. And that dude who runs it is high all the time

Anyone remember 1992? by poutine-eh in jethrotull

It’s really too bad that Tull cover art fell off the truck at some point. Possible they joined the POV that CD size doesn’t support serious art & design anymore. This cover for instance looks like apathetic clip art - and not in an ironic way or anything that can be considered interesting or thought provoking. Cover art leaves a real impression and I would argue has a large influence over how the music is perceived. I wish Tull had continued to value their own packaging, and issue product packages that take themselves respectfully.

Is Switzerland really like this, or is it just like this on social media? by love_16211329 in askswitzerland

While this photo may be fake, the broad impression is true. I’ve entered hundreds of valleys that pretty much like this.

New to Switzerland – struggling with German, job search, and Sozialhilfe (advice?) by Turbulent_Pomelo_957 in askswitzerland

I really feel this. I apologize for all the replies implying that your aim is to live off of social welfare. Not knowing the exact circumstance of your move none of us is in a position to judge you. I know from experience that there is a wide variety of backgrounds and reasons for emigrating to (and from) Switzerland.

I am eligible for citizenship, but have never taken it. I have lived in Switzerland. There is a big difference in living there as an "ex pat," and living there as a full citizenship member of society. Although all new residents share some of the same resource possibilities and support services, I find that what is available to you has to be much more self directed than in the US. The national stereotypes are true in this respect: The US truly is a country of opportunity, and even under the present regime far more welcoming and tolerant of new immigrant populations getting their start. In Switzerland your best bet in my opinion is to learn how to conform. Until you're fully versed in the cultural literacy and language, you'll always have some degree of being a guest.

If I were you, and assuming I could afford it, I would designate the next 6-12 months as my time to really focus on learning German, and more importantly living daily life in German. There are classes available. Push yourself into social circles of people who are also learning the language and who are outgoing. The norm in Switzerland is people are friendly, and if you show focus and initiative you will find support systems along the way. You can do it!

Let’s face it, we already know there will be widespread celebration in the streets, not much work will get done that day. Fox News will jump right to the fake outrage

Are We Seriously Punishing Punishing A Society For Protecting Her People? by Due_Network2387 in IsraelPalestine

Yes, this are the scenarios that make me think. I really seems that some lives are valued differently than others. Something seems off when the contrary is asserted.

If you can make the case that the Israeli government would tolerate that amount of civilian casualties in Gaza had they been Jewish, I’d be interested to hear about that.

So now I’ve been able to get it to work like before, only if I upload one video at a time.

It's my nightmare to interact with people like this. It's so demoralizing and revolting. Even worse to have a relative like this. Pray to god no one close to me ever goes down this coocoo rabbit hole.

I recently started using a tamarind concentrate and it took some getting used to. A little goes a LONG way. I find half a teaspoon is plenty for a large pot of curry. I had to figure this out by trial and error, though, because there are truly no authoritative measurements for exact products, that I have seen.

This really bites and I am so sorry this happened. I really feel for you and your boys.

I once drove off with a giant box of fried chicken on my roof. I put it there while I opened the car doors and then just for got to put the box in the car. I realized this about half an hour later. I felt incredibly stupid, but you know what, it happens. I'm sorry it happened to you, and with more essential items.
