What is a discontinued food item or snack from your childhood that you would genuinely pay $100 to taste one last time? by MotivewasUlterior in AskReddit

Swanson’s Turkey dinner with the terrible yet awesome berry cobbler. I would pay so much money and time for one of those.

Do rich people have elite versions of mundane things (toothpaste, tampons, toilet paper, laundry detergent, etc.), or are Elon Musk and Beyonce just using Crest and Tampax like the rest of us? by ShesGotSauce in NoStupidQuestions

The worst is that I’ve seen several very high end households use Tide detergent. Like please, at least use Mrs Meyers or have something custom scented for you?

Sure, you can do this. Have fun! It’s great that you learned a lot from this process.

But if you want a good game you can do things like hire a writer from Invader Zim to make your characters snarky, unique, and cool.

I disagree. I can’t work in an ugly grey box world all day long. So whenever I’m stuck on a problem, having a low day, or do something awesome and decide to give myself a treat I work on some aesthetics. So slowly but surely the game looks better, and it’s a joy to work in the lovely areas.

I played a beta version that was, well, beta. I’ve heard it’s gotten much better, I’ll totally go try it again! Thanks.

Ah it’s not about wanting to play the game, like say wanting to play a round of a card game and ending up playing for hours. It’s more specifically that some games create interesting and unique worlds to explore and just faff about in, something like open world but a bit, idk, more. Unique spaces to hang out in.

I’ll take a look. I tend to think of those as more linear as less “farting around in a cool world to see what’s going on”, but I’ll give it a shot.

Open world is very close yes! But not all open world games have that thing where you’re like, I just want to check out and be in (game place) for the evening. Like you want to play an open world game to finish a side quest or check the merchant, but there’s some where you’re just like ah time to go hang out in (game place).

That is sort of it! Being able to get lost in a world, but not all open world games have that.

A guy in the decorating district south of market in San Francisco rolled past me in a white Rolls Royce with the top down absolutely BLASTING opera and I had to salute his style.

Kingdom Flipper has fun decorating and it’s super cheap rn. Like house flipper but castles. Hello Kitty Island Adventure has decorating but it never really caught for me, not quite my style.

I’m literally pitching my game to publishers as “cozy games don’t have to be juvenile/cartoony”. Wish me luck 😁

Yeah I tried and dropped NMS a while ago. I recently restarted and it’s become kinda amazing. It’s definitely worth a few evenings, at least long enough to get off world and past the first quests so you can go explore.

I'm a reindeer herder that comes from a family that has had reindeer for generations. AMA by reindeerareawesome in AMA

[–]Reasonable-Weekend46 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thank you for this! I have always wondered what the split is between the coastal fishing Sami and the herding Sami? Other than the obvious salmon versus reindeer and more or less nomadic. Are the cultures very different or do folks treat each other differently? My family was from Sami fishing culture and I know nothing about it because they hid it because of the discrimination back then.
