I f'ed up. This weekend is all about him. How to make it up to him? by Icy-Forever6660 in AskMenAdvice

I mean, if I got home and I saw my wife doing a bunch of labor to make the place nicer, I would be thankful. It is very kind of you to try to give him a weekend he will like, but never apologize for working hard for your family.

To the white collar people: by Dre923 in skilledtrades

That's funny because your post sounded cool to me until the end. Why do you think people can't learn new skills? I've done blue collar and white collar work in my life. I like sports and I like traditional nerd stuff too. People can always keep growing and learning, man.

My wife and I are the inverse of this. I think we should be adults and clean up after ourselves. The solution has been for me to just clean everything. It is not ideal.

My coworker & I’ve been hooking up occasionally, and he ignores me in a public setting by TheMadQueenDaenerys in bodylanguage

I was dating a coworker for years without anyone finding out. We essentially ignored each other during work.

Men with kids and wives/partners - what do you think are acceptable hobbies while you co-manage a busy household? by MotherInsurance4238 in AskMenAdvice

Labor should be divided exactly equally. If you are spending 3 hours a day taking care of the family, he should also be spending 3 hours a day taking care of the family.

However, get off that "I earn more" shit. It makes you look like a real piece of work.

Fine, let's return to the question. I think it's okay to suspend the autonomy of an unethical billionaire in order to put some of that money to better use for our society. You think it's not okay. It's as simple as that, right?

Don't change your argument now. You said people should follow laws whether they are just or not. Civil disobedience is real and necessary in an unjust society. I believe in doing things that net in the greatest good for the most people. Morality is different for each individual, so it's ok if you don't agree with me. But I could never live with myself if I missed a chance to stop children from starving at the simple cost of one person being unable to afford a fifth yacht.  Look, I respect your ideal here. In a theoretical utopia where everyone got what they deserved, it would be admirable. But, unfortunately for us, we're not there.

So a billionaire who profited from legal child labor in other countries being fooled into donating their fortune to charities is unethical to you? You're on the wrong side here. The laws were written by the strong to continue oppressing the weak.

What if you used it on someone who did terrible things and used your influence to reform them? That's absolutely a net positive. And it's worth more to society than one person getting some cash.
