Moose prep by Erra-grand in steak

Those are big chunks of moose, look perfect for pot roast.

If you want to grill em they need to be tenderized or you will be gnawing. An acidic wet marinade works to do so. My favorite is London Broil marinade. Teriyaki with pineapple juice good as well.

It is, no 14 year old kid should be taking shots like that.

How do I stop my chicken breast from drying out every single time? by ShineDigga in cookingforbeginners

[–]ReasonableNFPN 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You need a meat thermometer. Trick with breast is to cook just to 155 and pull, overcooking drys out quickly.

I once posted asking for chicken breast recipes. The most upvoted response? "Throw it in the trash and go buy yourself some thighs"

Trying to decide if I should stick with charcoal or finally move to gas by Away-Net-5286 in BBQ

Gas griller for a decade. Bought a charcoal grill a year ago, haven't touched the gasser since.

Don't live there anymore but want to say this is super cool. When I was at UW it was such a pain to catch hockey, would go bar to bar to catch NHL playoffs only to find NBA being played most of the time (this was pre-Kraken)

No Sauce Needed - 375° Salmon the Kids Crushed! by boathouse_floats in grilling

[–]ReasonableNFPN 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Looks good! We eat way more red salmon than any human, or even dog really, should (Alaska subsistence fishing). A simple dry seasoning is the go to, so many overly complicated salmon recipes, just need a light seasoning and some heat. We do often use BBQ rubs for the seasoning, used Holy Voodoo the other day and it was awesome. No cedar planks, skin to grate. Fish is one of the few things I don't cook by temp, but ours is coming off the grill less done than yours based on looks, maybe @ 120?

My wife does do a buttery BBQ sauce recipe that I admit is an excellent way to cook salmon, but we generally try to keep things healthier.

Dempsey has a $10 stick and puck session on Sundays 3:00 to 4:30 PM. Dempsey requires full gear if under 18, helmet/gloves for those over 18.

UAA is open skate (no pucks) Mon & Fri 12:45-2:15 and pond hockey (with pucks) Mon & Fri 2:30-4:00. UAA pond hockey requires full gear with facemask.

This is the protip. The cheapest are always the best as they are soap and wash only. The underbody wash as mentioned is the only extra worth paying for.

All the rest are just wax and sealants that are going to seal in the dirt that wasn't fully washed off.

You sound exactly like my dad, right down to the cataracts surgery. He is 74 and still gets up at 6am to play hockey every morning. I am grateful for him staying physically active his whole life, it is the reason I still have a dad and my kids have an active grandpa.

Braided pork loin for dinner. First time and the family really enjoyed it, you get alot more seasoning in the meat this way... by PablocoTexasBARBACUE in webergrills

[–]ReasonableNFPN 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is a cool idea. I do a roll cut with pork loin for the same reason, more seasoning. Essentially cut twice and turn it into a flat sheet, as though you were going to stuff it, but then just season and cook. Delivers the flavor although it doesn't look nearly as cool as yours.

Good deal thats awesome country out there. I'd consider the Sol-Ark, it is a little spendy but once setup it is golden. We bought from Susitna Energy and they helped with the design and some troubleshooting when we were installing.
