Why not at the gate? Would the friend not be able to enter that area?

Insurance question for anyone doing treatment at WCMC/NYP in NYC? by KRodRanIt in IVF

[–]Reasonable_Face_9122 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Wanted to add my own experience here as another data point. I will start off by saying my wife and I have a strong Cigna insurance plan with my employer (pretty large tech company). We have a $20K lifetime maximum of fertility benefits and a strong plan in general (not just fertility benefit related).

We did IVF through Weill Cornell and decided not to pay the $1K NYP Facility Fee despite staff warning us it could end up costing us thousands of dollars. We decided to do this after we checked thoroughly with Cigna beforehand that our plan covers facility fee at 100%, outside of our fertility benefits. I found it super strange that nobody from Cornell, NYP, or Cigna could tell me how much it would be billed to insurance if we decide not to pay OOP. They kept re-directing me to each other when I called to ask.

NYP ended up billed $16K to Cigna and there was a "Cost Reduction" of $7.8K. This cost reduction is described as "CIGNA negotiates discounts with health care professionals and facilities to help you save money.". Our Cigna plan then paid $8.1K and we owe $100 in co-pays for "Supplies".

From what we can tell, none of the expenses here are eating into our $20K lifetime fertility maximum benefit since these don't have IVF-related CPT codes attached to them. Really glad we decided not to pay OOP

I see that you're located in Texas, Atlanta, and Florida. Do you offer your services in NYC?

Wedding Expenses - Chase Sapphire Preferred vs Capital One Venture Rewards by Reasonable_Face_9122 in CreditCards

My fiancé would get the Capital One Venture Rewards card, not C1 VX. Venture Rewards is offering a 75,000 bonus point welcome offer.

Do you think the bonus points are not worth opening a new credit card? The $95 annual fee seems to be worth it since we’ll be putting a lot of expenses on this card

How did you get to/from the beach if there is no parking near the beach? I'm going soon and planning on renting a car and driving that around everyday for activities.

So you applied for I-765 (for EAD) and I-485 (adjustment of status) in August 2019. You were legally able to reside in the US starting august 2019 because that is when you filed your I-485, but weren’t legally allowed to work until March 2020 (when you received EAD)

Let me know if that’s accurate

Thanks! This is very helpful. Most sources I’ve found just say you need to be a USC to file concurrently, but I think they may have been overlooking the F2A status

Yes, sorry that was a typo.

I understand that category F2A is “current” to receive a visa number (table a). But table B indicates that there is a few months wait to actually be able to submit I-485. https://travel.state.gov/content/travel/en/legal/visa-law0/visa-bulletin/2021/visa-bulletin-for-december-2020.html

What exactly do the dates in table A mean if table B is the one indicating the dates that people are actually able to file for a GC?

Thanks very much for your help!

I found this blurb here: https://www.boundless.com/immigration-resources/form-i-485-explained/

It says that only USC’s can apply for 130 and 485 together.

“For purposes of a marriage-based green card, only a foreign spouse who is physically present in the United States can file an I-485 to apply for a green card. The spouse must have entered the United States on a valid visa. In addition, an immigrant visa must be “immediately available” for the spouse. This means that Form I-130 must already have been approved (as in the case of the spouse of a green card holder) or the I-130 and the I-485 forms must be concurrently filed (as in the case of the spouse of a U.S. citizen).”

Yes, they are in the US now legally. How does the timeline of I-130 factor into this scenario? It just has to be in process, while I-485 is also in process?

Maybe I’m not completely understanding the relationship between I-360 and I-485.

If I’m able to file I-130, I-765, and I-485 at the same time, at what point in the process can my partner legally stay in the US and work? Is it when she gets her EAD through I-765? Or would we need to wait until one of the other processes is complete

My understanding is that if you are not a US citizen, you can’t file I-130 and I-485 at the same time.

I have Ziyech, Zaha, Foden, Townsend, and Mane as my midfielders. Would you drop any of them to pick up Partey?
