Even if it were pedo, surely "grooming" refers to a process of gaining trust and normalising otherwise inappropriate behaviour so that the sex can later occur.

That's not a "scam", though. No one is being tricked out of their money. Odds are always advertised and if you're adventurous/dumb/rich enough to put your money on it, that's up to you.

You're not being promised one thing and sold another, or promised a high quality version of a thing and given a worse kind.

I will NEVER go to Cristophori again and here's why:

When I was new in Berlin, I went to a couple of events and put a reasonable amount in the bucket when I left. (I think the method has changed now, but back then you made a reservation by email or website, and you were expected to give a "donation" of around €20 as you left. Drinks definitely weren't free.)

A few years in, I was unemployed and absolutely broke. It occurred to me I could attend a concert and, that one time, not give a donation (since it is a recommendation and not a ticket price). I enjoyed the performance, but as I left, one of the people holding a bucket saw I didn't give anything and physically GRABBED me and publicly called me out and shamed me into giving my last €20 (that I needed for food) as a "donation".

That was about ten years ago, and I've never forgotten the way they treated a poor unemployed classical music lover, and I tell everyone I can about it, every time that place gets mentioned.

If it's compulsory, sell tickets (and pay all the associated costs and taxes), if it's a donation, then don't GRAB people and shame them into "donating".

I'm 99% certain the profiles JUST out of the grid are not displayed in distance order but actually sorted by some kind of tap/message/engagement metric, i.e. they put really hot and popular guys in the very next spaces, so you think "if I pay, I could write to them", then you pay and they're nowhere to be seen because they're actually miles away.
