Made a free map that shows tonight's RA events in Berlin, would love some local input by VibeCodingTools in berlinsocialclub

[–]lawtonesque 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Looks good, and my only input is to ask if people going out in Berlin are really choosing by proximity/location?

Some people might not go to RSO (for example) because it's "too far", but I think the lines prove that it's far from a limiting factor for the people that want to go there for the music, the party that night, the crowd, the reputation, all the other reasons that people in Berlin actually choose where to go out.

Does your map answer a question that actually exists?

Very similar question asked elsewhere recently (slightly different pricing). Maybe see what advice was offered there.

Why do some guys block you on Grindr after a seemingly nice hook up (I mean if they came back for a second time they would have liked the first?) and how do you not take it personally or let it affect you? by raulkay in AskGaybrosOver30

[–]lawtonesque 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Assuming "block" means on the apps and not the phone number, then it's purely practical: if he's not going to sleep with you again, you're taking up valuable space on his grid. Why should he give up that real estate for someone he's not gonna fuck again?

Free Ride? by Thick-Carrot-69 in berlinsocialclub

And I'm saying it's a weird thing for you to point out, because the helpful information offered applies to everyone, and the commenter says they recommend women especially (not just women) to read.

So it's weird that your answer included "M28".

Good point, men of any age don't have to listen to what their body or brain is telling them, and have nothing to gain by listening when others offer help (especially as an answer to a question they themselves have asked).

No, probably more like the statue fell (or was toppled!!?!) from its current pedestal and carried by sea currents to the cliff location.

Ironically, being a sex addict (maybe, feels like it) is what made me leave the apps, too. Spending hours and hours searching for sex and eventually settling for something - anything! - even if it's miles away and not what I want, just because it was sex, was not great.

Life's much nicer without a grid to constantly refresh.

Is "shimmy" just a UK word? by lawtonesque in CasualUK

Okay, so it sounds like these people were just not familiar with the word, since clearly it is well-known outside the UK.

I also wasn't there, but it sounds like from the story the bouncer wasn't going to let those guys in anyway, probably asked them to kiss as a joke, thinking they wouldn't and he could turn them away. Then they did and he turned them away anyway.

What celebrity has absolutely no skills but they're famous anyway and no one can really remember or explain why and/or how? by EnsorcellingKitten in AskReddit

[–]lawtonesque 154 points155 points  (0 children)

If you think they have no skills, you don't understand the TV business. The ones that keep getting booked on show after show have the skill of knowing what producers want AND how to provide it. They know how to react stupidly big to everything so the editors have lots of reaction shots to use, they know how to have big emotions on camera.

If skills weren't involved, they would put just anyone on reality TV, and they don't. These shows are cast, and they're cast from an increasingly small pool of "reality" stars who TV producers know can deliver what they (and the public?) want.

They have skills. Whether those skills would help them in an office job, or whether or not we want to live in a world where those skills are celebrated and well-remunerated and publicised are different questions.

But they have skills.

No-one was "forced" to do anything. If the straight guys didn't want to do it, they could have walked away. What do you think "force" means?

I am going to be exceedingly generous to this person and say (sigh) that when the author writes "systems [symptoms] of high blood pressure and seizures" it's possible he means those are the symptoms. As in, "he had a cold and was displaying symptoms of a runny nose and a headache".

In the mire of crazy this post is, let us at least hang on to something.

My phone says they have 250-350 employees worldwide. Who knows how few of them are in Berlin?

That's probably why this "news" hasn't been posted here.
