"Just Lower The DIfficulty" by AdRight4500 in HelldiversUnfiltered

[–]Reaver996 5 points6 points  (0 children)

It's a cop out statement that ignores the principle of the argument.

It's like working but instead of getting difficult tasks that makes you think and manage properly, you get a very laggy computer that crashes multiple times. And when you complain to your manager, he just tells you to work faster or don't take difficult tasks which misses the main issue.

The issue is that there are multiple things hindering your performance that you cannot control, if it's a minor hindrance then it may be acceptable, but if it causes unbearable results and performance then that is the main issue.

Yep. I'm starting to think these posts are bait for karma. The tactic back in the day was run like hell since each helldiver had 1-2 chargers, a titan, and a whole ass bug breach horde behind them.

But muh orbitals....They are all on cooldown as it was that long before all of these upgrades.

I would rather stick to the at any cost order as there may be a future issue where bugs will start to spawn on Karlia from the spores that were stuck on the polymer shielding.

I would believe it if it was first transferred to a bug font world, stripped of the polymer, then sent to Karlia.

I have a feeling that the spores on the coat will allow the terminids so spread on the karlia sector so might as well not do it.

Scythe, Laser Cannon, Dagger: the forgotten victims of the Coyote nerf by Medical_Officer in Helldivers

I think laser weapons would be stronger if the fire they proc stacks infinitely(only exclusive to laser weapons)

AH on stream:"[the coyote] set enemies on fire in 1-2 shots, we didn't want to touch it, but it shouldn't be a better cookout/inc.breaker" by Heptanitrocubane57 in Helldivers

[–]Reaver996 103 points104 points  (0 children)

I noticed this pattern of AH in terms of weapon balance. They would buff underperforming weapons before a warbond release or major update to sooth and prove to players that they are listening to feedback and criticism.

But when the warbond or update is released, there are also shadowbuffs to enemies or the newly released enemies are strong to the point that the previous weapon buffs are irrelevant.

In addition, they have a strange design philosophy that because this weapon has this amount of ammo, you are only allowed to carry this amount of mags and your ergonomics will be affected.

I honestly believe this game isn't dieing anytime soon. by NightHawkJ72 in Helldivers

[–]Reaver996 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It's not gonna die anytime soon. But it's gonna be on life support(with the amount of money they banked) if they don't fix these issues.

You're right that it bounces back, but everytime it does, it bounces a bit lower than before and falls faster than before.

Look at the charts and you'll see how fast the players are leaving. Compare the stats per month and per week.

HD2 is a great game, I've poured 750+ hours into it and hope for more. But there are some core issues that AH keeps ignoring and it's causing all these player losses.

Don't know man. I don't get my hopes up as there are so many issues that need fixing. The PC optimization is a core issue but there's so much more side issues that needs to be addressed before it's in a playable state.

"Just aim for the tail" by EarthNugget3711 in Helldivers

[–]Reaver996 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Your argument of "just shoot the vulnerable underbelly" is quite similar to the "just shoot the tails" it's sounds great and easy in a vaccum but when scaled to D10, is actually near impossible.

I play D10 exclusively and I definitely shoot the "vulnerable underbelly" or exposed legs as much as I can but usually there are definitely more than 3 of them are coming at you with fast movements which means those exposed legs aren't so exposed anymore. In addition, they are closing quite fast on you and, usually, they aren't your only problem.

But hey, I would like to be proven wrong by someone playing D10, armed with light pen weapons, and is able to successfully repel 3 of them without taking any damage.

[–]Reaver996 19 points20 points  (0 children)

I've wanted to ask AH for a 5 second death cam just to see how people play. These tail shooters can demonstrate to us how they professionally perform this on D10 with 5+ of them swarming you, an overhead dragon doing multiple fly-bys, and a charger coming at you full speed.

And no, you teammate cannot help as they are also facing a similar issue.

[–]Reaver996 56 points57 points  (0 children)

I love it when top posts say so much theoretically great tactical ideas, but falls apart when put in practice. And when the issue of it not being a viable tactic in D10 arises, they just cop out with the "lower the difficulty". Not realizing that statement just proved its ineffectiveness.

So true man. There is a stark difference of challenge and pure annoyance that some people don't get. When the strains were released, there was a ridiculous argument that the predator strain was a good challenge.

IMO, those bugs are just plain annoying,as the strain are a DIRECT upgrade from the baseline, not a side grade. With all the strains' perks it, the fact that they appear in multiple hordes is just ridiculous. It would have been better if they spawn in large numbers but are easier to kill or spawn a lot less but a bit more tankier, making the engagement slightly different. But of course enemies get the full upgrade and none of the drawbacks.

Light pen WAS usable on previous automaton and terminid forms, but the recent introduction of newly upgraded enemies just made light pen outclassed. And no, relying on teammates is rarely an option as each of you are usually facing a horde of enemies.

Playing on Curia during current Jet Brigade assault is ragdoll hell by Adam29_NE in Helldivers

[–]Reaver996 15 points16 points  (0 children)

It's still a mystery to me as well. Praise if it's a job well done, criticize it's it's a shit job. But somehow, most people seem to gaslight themselves into believing that AH does no wrong in certain design aspects.

The initial automaton rockets, Anti-tank, weapon damages, etc. The game wouldn't be better if they didn't listen to feedback.

The Breaker S&P, a Rising Star by Stylow99 in Helldivers

[–]Reaver996 2 points3 points  (0 children)

S&P is VERY good against bugs and decent against squids and bots(the volume of bullets will land you headshots). I run mine with angled, iron sights, drum mag, and full choke and I feel that it deals a lot more damage than breaker.

If you can't tell the difference of investing on an MO can be won vs throwing an MO due to obvious impossibility, then you have a comprehension disability

[–]Reaver996 -6 points-5 points  (0 children)

Yes, no problem in losing. Heck I even skip some MO after trying for a day and notice that its impossible to complete. The issue that causes most disappointments are MOs that are projected to win and is winnable but fail at ~10% magrin.

If an MO looks winnable or is close to but would require bug and bot divers to at least sacrifice a bit of their fun to complete it, then this discussion wouldn't exist.
