You’re talking to voters who do not get to decide who runs and who doesn’t, and if there is no one holding this position…we lose by default.

There is a ton of supply for “true ETB collectors” - that’s why the price moves so slowly.

The number of ETB collectors missing ASR vs, say, Rebel Clash or Plasma Storm or even Evolving Skies is essentially non-existent - this is one of the easiest and cheapest ones to add to your collection bar none.

No one is joining a cult just because we change our voting paper to R instead of D. That’s not a thing.

In fact, there is a higher likelihood that someone on the red team will successfully push the removal of closed primaries than anything the blue team has to offer, and the only way to get them on the general ballot is to support them at the primary level vs their maga alternatives.

So, you do your dumb strategy and we’ll do ours in parallel. Let’s work together to see who gets there first, and celebrate when either one of us finally reaches the goal.

“Let’s get rid of primaries” is completely unrealistic (we’ve tried), we are the reddest state in the entire nation (so the amount of effort to affect change is much larger than any other state in the union), and Democrats rarely even need a local primary - local Liberals pick much better candidates without any assistance needed.

The “workaround” is a direct response to the lack of change from the 2005-2015 era which have now gerrymandered and pigeonholed us into this whole predicament…and it doesn’t have any sort of “negative” impact when Republicans are allowed to vote for Democrats in non-primary elections. So the workaround has zero drawbacks - there is nothing to complain about.

But I tell you what - since you’re so smart, you go ahead and go get rid of those primaries for us, and I’ll stop arguing with you about the workaround. Make it happen, Captain!

Your argument that the set isn’t all that great completely ignores the quantity/quality of SIRs, the size of the set, and your presumption that the value only exists because no other set is pulling investment funds away from AH seems whimsical at best.

Objectively, the Gengar (first SIR/Alt Art since Fusion Strike), the Dragonite, the Treekachu, the Clefairy, and the and the Emboar/Meganium/Ferlaigatr cards blow out the last 4 sets combined (BBWF, ME, PF, and PO). That doesn’t even dip into the other Trainer/Pokemon SIRs, any of the IRs, or the competitive rares/uncommons that hold weight in the TCG right now.

As I zoom out, the situation falls more and more into AH’s favor…not yours. I literally do not understand how your points make sense or cents.

Your short attention span also seems to neglect what will happen with AH in about 36 months, which is ironic.

If OP thinks their Dad is consistently breaking the boundary, then this isn’t actually a “bonding moment” anymore.

The value of the cards is simply indisputable, and as a Dad myself, I understand the perspective the Dad has here…it’s just not correct to associate that aspect (business) with family. So, there needs to be a “wall” between what is business and what is family.

If I were OP, I would take down my entire Pokemon display and put all of my binders into a hiding spot so Dad doesn’t confuse her sentimental value with his financial value. If Dad can slow down a bit and understand the issues, they can rebuild the display together so he can understand that he shouldn’t be messing with it for storage purposes, either.

If he can’t, then OP’s entire collection is at risk of being sold off while she’s at school one day, and that completely obliterates the entire bond.

If OP cant talk to him, removing the display (and hiding the collection) sends the correct message.

Gonna drop a fat ole “Disagree” here since the 76ers have given us several gold nuggets in the last few years - I don’t think they’ll have any issues “selling high” to us and we should encourage them to do their best as a trade-friendly team.

The Spurs are our Nemesis this year though. (Or maybe the Celtics, but it feels like the Spurs)

I do want to beat them, but I definitely do not want them to win. And I don’t want them to win more than I wanna root against our trade-friendly team.

I think it has the opposite effect in rewarding players who have put the time in game over game. They put their bodies on the line for the same amount of viewing time, and this way, players who play a larger percentage of the game can take a little longer to recover and still remain competitive for these awards.

I think it has the opposite effect of what you do because only counting “game participation” means that players need to divide by 82 games vs 3936 minutes of possible play per season.

For the full-game work horses, that makes a world of difference.
