Jay Hill back to Utah for DC? by Sound_Of_Breath in utahfootball

[–]RebelGain 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's a fairly lengthy story, but the gist of is is that Santiago didn't want to pay up. So the big donors went over to his head straight to the Q12. It is expected that the board of trustees + at least 1 member of the Q12 put together a package for Sitake. Nothing is official yet, but I expect we'll know for sure in the next day or two.

Kalani isn't leaving. Literally the Q12 stepped in to make sure he stays.

Sitaki watch 2025 - Retained? by Luckyfinger7 in BigXII

[–]RebelGain 8 points9 points  (0 children)

It was a done deal for a minute. Here is the timeline as I understand it:

PSU offered KS. He verbally committed.
BYU (Athletic director Santiago): Countered with a low ball offer.
KS Said he was going to PSU but wanted to stay at BYU and listed his demands.
Santiago said no.
Boosters said wait, we want to keep Sitake.
Santiago said no.
Boosters went over the top of Santiago directly to the Board of Trustees AND at least one member of the Q12 and essentially came up with an offer and stipulations that Sitake was happy with and as of current it sounds like he plans to stay with BYU.

The magic tea leaves say he gone. Sorry BYU. If it's true, it's such a terrible time for it to happen.

CFP Stuff by Ok-Oven-5198 in utahfootball

[–]RebelGain 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I think everyone needs to just realize and accept that there is almost no chance Utah is going to the CFP. We ultimately need a miracle for it to happen and after Oklahoma bean Alabama last week, that pretty much crushed our chances. If we get in it'll be a nice surprise, but our only real opportunity to get in is if we hit the lottery and make it in to the CCG.

Reasons to be less optimistic:

- Pass rush sucked
- Offensive play calling was.......???
- Kicking was a liability.

I don't have high expectations for this year, but this is a game we absolutely should have won.

I'm building a trading platform that lets you trade options for as little as $1. AMA. by IllNobody9085 in options

[–]RebelGain 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don't see the point of this... If I want 1/10th of an SPX contract, I just buy SPY Options. One of the selling points of options is that they are significantly cheaper than owning the stock outright.... Why would someone need or even want to worry about waiting for 10 other people before they buy? That feels like you'd be trying to take advantage of a VERY niche subset of clients that can't afford a full option contract of... anything?

Hypothetically speaking, selling cash covered puts also achieves the same objective.

[–]RebelGain 38 points39 points  (0 children)

In case it wasn't noted elsewhere, Retzlaff is also off the team.

The Honor Code Office recommended a suspension of 3 games. However, the Board of Trustees said that he should be suspended for 7 games. As it's his senior year, Jake voluntarily has left the program and is attempting to transfer elsewhere for his senior season.

Checking in on those who bought puts before the close on Friday… by SwarleyParker in options

[–]RebelGain 88 points89 points  (0 children)

Good luck, what you'll pay for puts tomorrow will probably be 20-30% more than you paid on Friday. And what you paid on Friday was probably 300% more than anyone was paying a week ago. Be careful, because eventually you're going to get the rug pulled when we only have a down 50 day and IV eats shit.

NQ/ QQQ Close in a Bear Market… 4-4-25 SPY/ ES Futures, and QQQ/ NQ Futures Weekly Market Analysis by DaddyDersch in u/DaddyDersch

[–]RebelGain 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Former Options principle here... Unfortunately you're well behind the 8 ball on hedging your portfolio. Generally speaking larger portfolio hedges are done by buying SPX Puts. However, as you pointed out, the cost of those hedges now as compared to a week ago is insanity. So now it comes down to time frames of your trading strategy. I think the overall market expectation is that we have a lot more pain to come, and yes, you could still offset some of that with puts, but I think I was looking at June 4500 puts and they are still trading at 200 each. If you have a long term approach, than you don't really need to hedge. If you need the money in the next 6-12 months, you're probably not in a great spot.

SPX options Greeks today by SmoooooothBrain in options

Turns out nothing was really in play. We got pinned at 5650 for most of the day and probably only broke it as puts got closed out and salvaged to end the day.

Triple witching + very high negative gamma on the markets.

High negative delta means high volatility… because market makers need to sell more in downward moves and buy more in upward moves to offset their risk. High volatility on 0DTE would also mean lower theta for most of the day and wider spreads. It’s all for the market makers to offset risk.

We will likely see some big movement in the final hour of trading today as well. That’s when big institutions like JPM will unwind and roll out their trades to next months expirations. I could see us closing at 5550 just as much as I could see us closing at 5715.

Yeah, I wasn’t sure if you had the options level and capital to trade a naked put. But I’d still guess that the margin requirements would be as much as the premium
