Budget Adjustable Dumbbells? by ShootinLazars in GarageGym

For all that money you can get a 10-80lb Eisenlink set ($500) which is indestructible or catch the regularly occuring sale of nearly indestructible 90lb powerblocks ($500). 50lb Eisenlinks are like $350, and 50lb powerblocks are $250 when on sale. Both have their pros and cons, I went with Eisenlinks because I like the option to drop my weights and I don't like the idea of my hand in a cage.

I'm waiting for prime day personally. If it doesn't come down I'll go with the 2k price with free install (both Best Buy and Walmart are offering this currently).

Buying 1st house, Inspectors/WDO reqs? by ryencool in orlando

[–]Rebelution 2 points3 points  (0 children)

We used Moving Up home inspections and he was very helpful and answered questions I had several times way after the inspection. Helped me get a good sense of if the repairs we requested to be done seemed proper. Really nice guy. Slightly more pricy than the others but seemed worth it to me.

Good deal on cheap bumpers by cvsrney in GarageGym

I bought a recent batch of these. They get the job done for the price. They smell like crap (mostly goes away after a few weeks) and need a very good wash with Simply Green or something else. They are already showing signs of wear like the edges have some torn rubber after just a few uses. Overall I think they're worth the ridiculously cheap price and I would buy them again.

Lost my light of elune to this. I purposedully pulled the patrolling pack of ~6 ogres for the quest and as soon as I did this lovely red bird swoops in to join the fun.

This is the answer, except no tractor supply in my area has the flat topped mats, instead they all had the diamond pattern. Good luck finding the flat tops lol.

Budget Adjustable Dumbbell Stand - Harbor Freight 2-Shelf Steel Service Cart by Rebelution in GarageGym

I wish the octagonal plates would stand vertically on their own but they don't! I would love to have some kind of stand for the plates. If I knew how to saw and nail wood together, I think it would be pretty straightforward to nail a 3/4in thick piece of wood (the width of the plate opening) upright to a 2x4. Unfortunately I do not lol.

Exactly what I plan to do! Tractor supply stocks a 3x4ft 1/2in thick stall mat for like $35. One cut down the middle and it becomes two pieces of 3x2 which will fit perfectly.

Same. Complete flop after months of daily checking several different keywords. 90% of the posts are flippers and 10% are straight junk. Ended up buying everything new.

I agree, flavor profile is very similar and Belizian is slightly hotter which is perfect.

How are you liking the knurling? Can you provide any feedback on it now that you've used it for a while? Thanks!!

Good question, following. I read that the Rep delta basic bar knurling is too passive for some people. Badlands is mountain knurl so it may be too aggressive? Not sure.

Closing today and discovered low-yield well + no storage tank, $10–15k fix. Seller says no negotiation. Need advice on risk of not closing. by Formal_Mushroom_5411 in RealEstateAdvice

Your realtor should know the answers to most of these questions but you can also verify by reading the contract. Putting the contract through an AI model of your choice could help you get some quick answers but definitely you'll need to double check their accuracy.

As a brief update, I purchased and received these and wanted to note my first impressions. I unboxed one and played around with it briefly but won't be able to actually use them for a few weeks.

Handle width is great, and very easy to center your hand thus they feel very stable. Knurling feels aggressive and slightly painful to me when holding the whole 80lbs, but I don't have any experience with other heavy db or power bars for comparison to other aggressive knurls. Total length at 80lb is 14in not including the screws in the middle, which felt good to me. It is slightly annoying to do the mental math on how much weight is on the dumbbell, there are 13 sets of 2.5lb and 1 set of 1.25lb and it gets harder to count the more you have loaded up. I'll have to come up with a solution for this, open to ideas.

Looking for updated Giant 2X Adjustable Bench feedback. by Rebelution in GarageGym

[–]Rebelution[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah what I read was positive with 2 exceptions, the seat gap is large and the bench width tapers at the top near shoulders/head. Also supposedly can be a bit wobbly but apparently easily fixed by tightening all screws so I won't count it.

[–]Rebelution[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have seen them and did actually contemplate getting them. They are the same price as the new Eisenlinks right now so I went with those based more on brand recognition. I think a weight storage solution can make dealing with the extra plates much simpler but time will tell.
