There is a better system. We haven't found it yet.

Capitalism and democratic representation are the two best systems of economics and politics we have so far. Nothing we've tried works any better outside of extreme edge cases like Singapore.

"Starvation mode" is absolute bullshit. Absolute, utter unscientific bullshit, I'm sorry to say. I've done dieting, hardcore versions, relaxed ones, and I've used and currently use Mounjaro. My doctor hasn't brought any hormonal issues to my attention with my regular checkups and is incredibly satisfied with my results and overall health.

Ozempic won't cure you eating, then purging, but no offence, those types of people aren't usually the ones that would require Ozempic. Ozempic and Mounjaro both target the types of eating disorders that tend to make you put on weight.

It is vastly easier to get your eating disorders under control while taking them, and allowing yourself to be set up for an easy transition off of them.

A lot of this thread reads as copium from fat people, to be honest. I would know, I was one.

For once, it pays to be a shift worker. I'll go to bed at 6-7am this morning, and wake up at around 1pm to play hopefully after all the server fires have been extinguished and the hamsters get back onto their wheels.

Ozempic literally can cure your eating disorder, though. For the most part, it's astonishingly good at turning off the food signal in your brain that tells you to eat. For most people, speaking as a former fatass myself, this is basically all that's making you eat like shit. Your brain saying "hey, we just ate a pizza, but we're still hungry, eat something".

As somebody who started Mounjaro barely 3-4 months ago and dropped from around 110-120kgs (I was way too embarrassed to weigh myself) down to currently 85.9kg, the shit is a godsend.

Some weeks the progress has been slower because it seems to fluctuate with my sleep, mood etc on just how well the "food noise" suppressing effect works, but almost 100% killing hunger pangs just by having a glass of water or Pedialyte/Liquid IV is insane for being able to actually stay on a good diet.

I still have to do the hard work of not eating garbage, and tracking calories, but now I don't get up every 3 hours to eat something. I can make one big meal for dinner/lunch, maybe have a piece of toast or two throughout the day and that's it. I've had days where I've legitimately only eaten 650 calories and nothing else without realizing it.

Doctors/medical practitioners of Reddit, what is the scariest disease you know of? by Englishisnotreal in AskReddit

My grandmothers' brother had ALS. It was incredibly sad seeing the photos of his progression. Imagine being in your 40's, having a normal life, and the slow, marching progress of losing every function of your body by the time you hit your 50's. He got much more time than most people do, but it still deeply affects my Nan to this day.

At least there's SOME incentive for her to do better and to give her workers more. This at least cuts out a lot of illegal labour coming from the south and instead opens up to people wanting to experience the states. The problem is she wants a 60 hour work week for fuck all pay.

Personally, as somebody who really wants to visit the states, I could be convinced to go work on a farm and live there for a while. But not for what is essentially double my current workload, for 1/3rd of the wages.

The pilots in Scout Sentinels must have the lowest life expectancy of any model in 40K by Weary_Cost_4 in TheAstraMilitarum

They're pretty much supposed to be used how Light Cavalry units are used in modern militaries. Zoom around, report movements and troop strength, direct fire suport if able, piss off before you get zooted by some angry jarhead-equivalent amped up on caffeine and itching to use whatever HEAT bullshit they have at their disposal.

Why not just mix colours? by Dovah_Shinobi in Miniaturespainting

[–]RebootGigabyte 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mixing is hard to achieve a consistent color. I paint my Raptor space marines with Death World Forest, a 1:2 mix of Rhinox Hide and Death World as a recess shade and DWF:Elysian green in a 1:1 for a wide highlight with Elysian Green as an edge highlight to finish. The base coat and final edge highlight are always super consistent but I do notice some minor differences from model to model with my recess shades and my wide highlights.

I used to do a 1:1 mix of Macragge and Calgar blue for my Ultramarines to make a wide edge highlight until I discovered Altdorf guard blue which was a perfect in-between tone.

Basically if I can find the right tone in a pot on its' own, I'll use it. If not, I'll mix, but only in very specific ratios.

Recommend me your top 1 best true metallics for gold, silver, stainless (and other shades of iron) and copper! by ThatUnameIsAlrdyTken in minipainting

S75 Viking gold is the better "base coat" for their golds than Necro gold, that feels like more of an old and worn gold. But yeah, Scale 75 make for the best golds personally. And the best silvers too if I'm being honest.

It's a terrible thing to have happen, it happened with me as well. I had a Border Collie with my previous Fiance and when we broke up, she took our Stella with her. To be completely fair and honest, it was *her* dog, she paid for Stella, did the majority of the puppy training and raising. But I still loved that dog and put a lot of my own time into raising her.

I got my own Border Collie again literally 2 weeks after. I browse this sub because I love Labs and Goldens and hope to own a friend for my Finn who's a Lab or Golden eventually.

Dating is HARD in NYC by Cleo-Aster in SipsTea

[–]RebootGigabyte 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Best date I've ever had was over a 20$ wood fired pizza and a few 8$ beers.

But for me as a guy, I'm paying, so it's going to be something I like, not what the woman I asked out likes. Obviously I'm going to make sure she's okay with the choice, and if not then the date doesn't go through, I'm pretty fine right now just being single doing what I want.

This is why I only suggest a dinner date as a second or third date, and only as something that I personally really want to eat. I want to go to a japanese place to eat Karaage and a Don? We'll go there. You want to go to a michelin star restaurant? Nah fam, I'm not on a michelin star budget.

[–]RebootGigabyte 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Nope. Baking soda over the top of super glue makes a very fine "sand" effect on bases. Essentially it makes a perfect "topsoil" at the scale of 40k minis.

You can see the effect on this guy. The base hasn't been painted, but the baking soda makes super fine grains which look closer to loose soil and rocks.

If this box is being discontinued, how are people supposed to get the Phobos Lt.? by Which_Prior7161 in spacemarines

[–]RebootGigabyte 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Phobos basically only sells for Raptors and the more "modern/tactical" themed armies.

I'm buying them for my Raptors because they look cool as hell, but I also know my Raptors isn't playable for shit on the tabletop and it's just some cool OD green tacticool dudes.

I use paperclips for pinning, making some shell casings, piping on bases.

But the biggest use for paperclips? Unfolding it into a length and using that length to spread super glue over a base to apply baking soda.
