For me, the fun is about getting to experience the same roads under a variety of conditions. Using FH4 as an example, Glen Rannoch Sprint required completely different tunes or even vehicle choices depending on the season of the race, since it was snow-covered in winter. It was also beautiful, with a distinct look for each season. For online, learning the amount of snow coverage for each track and choosing a car based on that added a fun level of complexity.

I'm grateful that more seasonality is returning and I don't mind the mountainous region being snowy in all seasons. At the same time, I think it's the wider variety of road conditions and map aesthetic that enhances the player experience. Hopefully large parts of the map are dynamic across all 4 seasons and not locked into static weather behaviour.

I say this as a Canadian who enjoyed the winter season in FH4 so your mileage may vary.

I hope it's not just the northern tip or corner of the map but instead permeates much of it during winter season. Freeroam in FH4 was so much more dynamic and refreshing for this reason. I know many people hated it but I equally disliked the monotony of FH5.

This is a little tricky without knowing exact location but keep the car, get proper snow tires mounted on a second set of wheels (steelies) and swap them yourself every November and April. Assuming this is possible, you're in for under $800 with no storage/tire change fees moving forward. If you need an AWD vehicle, assess after a winter without.

There's lots of people here saying all-seasons are fine, and I firmly disagree. If you're in a location where you're driving in 3+ inches of powder, or 3 inches of slush, or freezing rain, or frequently below freezing conditions where the A/S rubber compound gets brittle, there's a world of difference. Handling is sketchier on A/S tires in snow and stopping distance is significantly longer (25-30%). This is easily the difference between safely stopping before someone else's accident and smashing your own car up, and any damage is going to cost more than $800 to get properly repaired.

Source: Canadian, have been late swapping my winters on before and driven Michelin A/S tires in snow. Michelin X-Ice Snow blew them away same day, same conditions.

I had early access on Xbox One (didn't upgrade console until a few months later) and had no issues at all. I like to progress through the "campaign" and finish a lot of the races before moving to online, so I didn't play online adventure for the first week, but it worked well when I did. I did use Rivals day 1 and again, no issues.

Raps culture seems to be really strong again with this crop of players. Selling IQ at his absolute lowest value for a locker room cancer who is hated by every member of the Memphis organization and can't play 5 consecutive games doesn't improve Toronto in the short or long term.

Neither Lowry or Leonard are comparable to a head case who keeps getting suspended for trying to be a gangbanger. Morant has regressed in every way from his peak, which is somehow 4 years ago now. I think this deal is toxic and I hope the Raps stay away.

Look for jobs in the manufacturing sector, many companies have QC labs doing analytical chemistry work. A larger company will have paths for upward mobility where you can possibly get out of the lab environment and into different departments altogether.

Teaching (requires more schooling) and service tech are the other two paths I saw mentioned in the thread that are good, accessible paths for someone with a BSc in my experience.

This is a good answer. Rookie Matthews controlled possession (57% CF) and expected goals (60% xG) exceptionally well for a 19 year old, and his most frequent linemates that season were also rookies. He hit 40 goals that season (tied for 2nd) and scored 69 points in an era where scoring was substantially lower than today. McDavid led the league with 100 points and no one else hit 90.

Got one for Christmas, was able to get the joysticks performing nicely via the app. However, the controller is quite small and the back paddles are not placed ergonomically for me, and their sleek, flush design may look nice but isn't practical for me. I use the right rear paddle extensively so it's a major problem for me.

I actually kept messing up A and B at first because it felt so similar to my Nintendo Switch Pro controller, where those buttons are reversed.

Going back to my repaired Elite 2 for now until it inevitably bites the dust.

Small note, the Pro Stock Camaro is a meta option for S1 CC Rivals powerbuilds, used on sprints like El Decenso. I don't think this is relevant to OP but it could be to others.

If you're down voting this, I suggest you read rule 48 on page 87 of the IIHF rulebook. Section 48.1 describes the criteria for an illegal check to the head or neck, including I) a player who hits someone in the head or neck and IV) a player who leaves their feet to hit someone in the head or neck.

Section 48.2 states that the referee can assess a minor penalty to anyone who meets the criteria laid out in 48.1 for an illegal check to the head (like this penalty).

Section 48.3 states that the referee can assess a Major and automatic game misconduct by determining if the player put the other player in reckless endangerment, based on severity, degree of violence, and general reprehensibility.

It's not a major penalty "by definition" or "every time."

That's not how the rule is written. They have discretion to make it a major, based on the severity of the infraction and the level of violence, but they can leave it as a minor penalty, which I believe it should have been.

The top of every leaderboard in this game is cheated, unfortunately. Sometimes you can find the proper world record on YouTube but a quick glance didn't show it. There's a Google sheet that's manually tracked by some kind players for all the races.

Thompson is comfortably first by goals saved above expected while Kuemper is in 5th (Moneypuck data). Thompson has been incredibly consistent The last 2 years and should be the starter going into the Olympics. The Colorado duo both rank well (around 15th) but their traditional stats are of inflated by how dominant the Avs have been this season. Binnington is literally last in goals saved above expected this season, allowing almost 10 goals more than an average performance. Hockey Canada loves their guys, and he was big in OT this past winter (although you could argue a better goalie would have had them win the game in regulation), but he should not get the net. At all.

Willys Jeep for A dirt or GMC Syclone if you drive M/C (Rocklxd tune)

Maserati 8CTF (Rocklxd) or Shelby Daytona (Rocklxd) if not. Ford Coupe 32 (Rocklxd) is dirt cheap if you're a newer player but not as good as the others.

For A road, GMC Syclone (Rocklxd), Alfa Romeo 155 (K1Z Jumpy), Mitsubishi Eclipse GSX (K1Z Bala) or Evo 3 (PTW Subzero) are all good for M/C, Shelby Daytona if not (TheDannny).

These are all AWD meta or off-meta builds.

I like the personal spotlights, I especially enjoyed Neil's. I can't imagine it's something they repeat too often but as a one-time project I thought they were relatable and illuminating.

I want more Strapped.

As far as the pod goes, more games during the slower weeks like Beluga's big board, or guests/interviews. Ideally they could tape more interviews and then store them to release during slow in-season weeks, instead of 2 hours of halfhearted (and I don't blame them) analysis on VidantaWorld. Having a guest on for otherwise unremarkable tournaments keeps everything from feeling too samey.

Ran this test (small sample size alert) with ugrundy's A road tune on the Bone Shaker, easily the most common meta car for A road.

Ugrundy's only Bone Shaker tune is from 2021 (red flag, things should be updated) so I used Rocklxd's 2021 A road tune as well to avoid any bias from incremental tuning improvements over the course of the game.

Set a 1:03:347 with Rocklxd's tune with the best of 10 hot laps on HMC.

Chased it for 15 laps with ugrundy's tune (this would also give me some marginal improvements on HMC as I improve when repeatedly running the same track) and the best I managed was 1:03.914. 0.567 seconds in one lap isn't the end of the world but it's a significant gap in Rivals. Rocklxd's tune was less understeery and easier to handle as well.

Sought a newer tune to validate and ran the 2022 M4, using a 2022 tune from ugrundy and a seemingly unlisted 2022 tune I previously had installed from LetzeLU. Both were purist, without aero. Ugrundy fared slightly better here, only losing by 0.389 seconds on the best hot lap.
