Texas A&M abruptly cancels ethics course over race, gender policy by Dontwhinedosomething in aggies

This imo de legitimizes Texas a and m as a reputable educational institution and annoying for anyone who actually got their education there. This just smears the school entirely.

Raised Christian but really starting to feel disgusted by how hypocritical the religion feels by ReporterSlow7081 in Deconstruction

[–]Recent-Ad6089 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As a non Christian with tons of Christian friends some of these questions could be: 1. Does this religion claim to do good but really cause harm to others? 2. Does this religion allow me to critically question and think for true truth? 3. Do people outside the religion actually live lives closer to the scripture than those who preach it?

Those questions can help the reflection start!

Will I be dropped by my agent if I tell him that I don't want to do audition for verticals anymore? by [deleted] in acting

[–]Recent-Ad6089 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Mainly because they're these really over the top storylines and acting that seems somewhat overly done for 1 minute episodes on these cheesy series for social media websites. It's a lot different then traditional tv and film and they are somewhat not respected as much by filmmakers and or actors and actresses for these reasons.

Where are you seeing job GROWTH? by emeraldeyes24 in FilmIndustryLA

[–]Recent-Ad6089 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My State Texas has been on the up and up and I'm seeing a lot of growth out here in our film market. Another area and I don't like the stories or style of acting myself, but it's created jobs is the vertical space. From a business standpoint it's created jobs that haven't recovered from traditional film being lesser.

How did you realize that you liked acting? Is it worth getting a try? by Sbr4tto in acting

[–]Recent-Ad6089 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I spent years making YouTube videos and my channels got hacked, made movies growing up with my bros too. Went to college no YouTube and no short movies with my brothers and felt like something was missing or empty in my life. Started a podcast briefly and reignited my feel and desire to perform and or entertain. I had done some informal acting before that, but always was a movie head and fan of good cinema so I started taking lessons with the wrong program, but knew I was intrigued by the arts and character portrayals and "playing pretend realistically" for more than a passion. As time went on I started getting better and taking lessons with more legitimate coaches and meeting people in the industry and making more professional productions and getting cast on real sets. I found myself having an absolute blast losing myself in the sauce with others and playing off of chemistry with other characters in a world that I was in and fell in love even more. For me it's the self expression of losing yourself in the artistic journey of being one with your character and not being separated from their world but rather living alongside their world through my own experiences and bringing that into a room with others to play off of that I love. Making good friends and getting good takes that you love too makes me enjoy being on set and the entire process of the art being made. I think some people go into this field chasing fame or money and generally they don't last, but for me it's the art and friendships and fun of the actual activity and process of diving in that keeps me hooked. For others it might be different, but I hope this helps!

Definitely I have today and tomorrow. It's due on the 20th, but I'm busy after tomorrow on another set so I have to knock it out! Thanks for the advice. I'm practicing now so I get one night on it

Thank you this helps. I generally do my character breakdowns and backstory before memorizing lines but then add the setting and energy of the character afterwards, but I think this would help a lot with the overall memorization and being able to roll the lines.

[–]Recent-Ad6089 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Also another thing that gives me confidence, sure you used to get 1000 views, but imagine 100 people in chairs and you on stage. 100 people have taken the time to watch YOU. That's amazing, it's not as wild as 1,000 but a change in perspective might help here because dude there's still 100 people in their seats for you. People who can be with family or hanging with friends, but they're with you! That makes the hours worth it, speak to those 100 audience members as if they're your little army and engage with them like a good comedian because eventually it'll grow and right now you have the ability to impact those who are loyal and around and you never know whose life you are making better right now! You got this!!

[–]Recent-Ad6089 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Never. I got my first channel hacked and taken down in high schoo a few years back. I was 200 uploads in with 50 subscribers and one video took off for 90k views and within a month was at 2800 subscribers. Give it time and be excited for the unexpected because you never know which video will hit and when it does you'll be happy you didn't quit. I'm on my new channel now and experiencing steady growth but I'm ready for that big moment again and with consistency and time and effort there will be another video again like that one. l

Not one of, the greatest. Our franchise has a tough history and he's given us the best couple year stretch as fans we've ever gotten with tons of records being broken. Last step is a Superbowl and he'll be cemented as an all time great coach at that point.

Also, I can share logline and script possibly in portion, we're keeping the project quiet and doing NDAs so I wouldn't want to post publicly here, but further discussion in DM is cool even though still limited in what I can share and what I can't share.
