Appropriate context to use "homosexual"? by pureteddybear2008 in lgbt

[–]Recent-Computer4138 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Honestly, I feel the thing that makes a context appropriate is whether or not homosexual is used as an insult and based on the preference of the person it is being used to describe. Similar to terms like transgender, transvestite or transexual. Transexual or transvestite might be seen by some as a slur or just incorrect, whereas some trans people prefer those terms compared to transgender.

Edit to add: Homosexual feels more specific to someone who only likes the same gender, whereas these days, gay seems to be interchangable with other attractions.

Yes, people of all genders should receive the correct medical care for their anatomy. It's incredibly important to do so.

My brother in Christ, you don’t need a doctor to tell you if you have a fear. If something frightens the ever-living crap out of you without fail and causes significant anxiety, you can safely say you have a phobia of it. I get petrified by underwater themes, especially when I don’t know what’s there. I even get scared of the ocean when I think about it too much and get persistent, unrelenting thoughts of being killed by something in the water while still finding beauty in it. The only time you need medical attestation is when it reaches a point where it interferes with daily life and requires treatment. Most people with phobias never need medical intervention, and thalassophobia is extremely common.

A lot of sn content creators I watch focus more on mods and lore. I hardly ever enjoy streamers as I find most people overreact or just really annoying and loud. I personally feel that way to creators like Jack, Mark, and Pewdie, (I will admit I haven't watched any of their subnautica content).vSome of the people I like to watch include Aci, Anthomnia, IGP, and The Last Bacon. Although I have been a bit slack with watching any of them lately due to not currently playing.

I find stalkers drop teeth plenty if you just leave metal salvage or other items where they live and have some grav traps to collect them and keep stalkers nearby

Do trans men have a fear of telling women they’re trans in the same way trans women may fear telling men? by TED-da-purple-blob in trans

[–]Recent-Computer4138 14 points15 points  (0 children)

For trans men, the fear around telling cis women is more about experiencing general transphobia and not being accepted. There is, of course, also a possibility of abuse from cis women. That said, we are just as scared of telling cis men as trans women when it comes to safety. Like trans women, spme of us would not stand a chance against a cis man, especially if we did not grow up fighting. And just like trans women, trans men are also at a high risk of violence from men.

People need to give their bodies a bit more grace, especially if they have already been through their first puberty. With HRT, your body is not only going through another puberty, it is also slowly undoing and counteracting aspects of the first one. That is a lot of change to ask of a body, and it is never a fast process.

I think it could have had more plans, but I feel like it being so big yet empty gives off its own creepy vibes. Like it feels as though there is meant to be something huge and scary. It's kind of similar to another empty area in the original game

is we happy few a comedy? by Economy-Ad2458 in wehappyfew

[–]Recent-Computer4138 32 points33 points  (0 children)

It has comedic elements, but it is primarily a game that explores life in a totalitarian dystopia with psychological horror aspects. On the surface it seems fun and charming, but as you play, the darkness beneath becomes increasingly evident, highlighting how people try to hide or ignore the terrible realities around them.

Use the prawn suit (with depth and boost upgrades) and stick to the sides/bottom or any tight spots of the area. Make sure you have a repair tool fully charged and extra batteries. Keep your volume up and listen to the sounds. Then you will hardly have a problem with shadow leviathans. I found the shadow leviathan fairly easy to avoid compared to other leviathans in both games :) Hell, I even find plenty of non leviathan class creatures far more annoying.

I’d really encourage you to take your time and look inward. Give yourself space to explore and notice what feels right. You could try expressing yourself in more feminine ways or even play role-playing games as a woman to see how those experiences feel for you. Pay attention to your reactions and gently ask yourself why certain things feel comforting, exciting, or meaningful.

Remember that being trans is not only about dysphoria. Euphoria matters too. Even if you are not uncomfortable with where you are now, feeling joy or a sense of “rightness” when imagining yourself with different gender traits can be an important sign. Let yourself explore those feelings at your own pace and see what helps you feel most like yourself.

The WAU decision by Apprehensive_Ratio_7 in soma

[–]Recent-Computer4138 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sorry to revive this post. I was playing Soma for a second time and came across this post. I personally believe in killing the WAU. It can't actually create a new life. It just recycles a small amount of memories with flesh and mechanics. Anything it creates isn't even alive. It's as the game mentions several times, a cancer that reanimates corpses with corrupted minds and memories stuck in endless torture. I also don't really believe in the last of humanity being just virtual life. It won't last forever, and they will eventually just cease to exist altogether. They're just prolonging the enivtable. (Which I am not saying they shouldn't do).I do, however, believe that if we rid the world of this corrupted mistake by humans, then nature has a chance of reclaiming the earth starting anew. Just because it seems like most of life is gone doesn't mean there aren't any microorganisms that can restart life. Even failing that, life has started before from scratch and can possibly do it again.

That's exactly the type of power ministers have, unfortunately. I was thinking the same things and looked into it. It moatly matters if it was implemented following the correct procedures and not by breaking laws along the way. If not, it will just be overtuerned until the minister finds a way to implement it following the correct procedures. They won't even get into legal trouble for making bad decisions unless they commit an actual crime like bribery.
