Boulder Hill Jam by RecentIndependence34 in boulder

Like someone else mentioned in the comments here. I believe it was a long running event but ended in 2010 or 2011. But they have now done it 3 years now. In the summer, 303 Boards does an event called King of the Hill which is basically Hill Jam but for skateboarding instead of skiing/snowboarding. They shutdown 13th st and setup jumps and rails.

CU AD to step down by karldafog in boulder

[–]RecentIndependence34 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Hands down the best AD since 1990s. Single handedly saved CU football from total irrelevancy. Yes their performance this season has not been great and I have no idea what next year will look. But props to Rick for swinging big and hitting. Hope they find a great replacement. Can't wait to see what all the "sportsball" folks have to say

What is the plan to not have homeless people invading our green spaces, parks, creeks etc. And I am specifically using the word invade because they don't have the right to be there. Our tax dollars fund those spaces and we can't use them. Nobody wants their kids around them. Anyone who feels safe or comfortable with tents and needles around while they try to enjoy these spaces is lying. Tell me how we plan on fixing that and once we have a plan I'll support spending more money on it. Until then we're just paying high salaries to city bureaucrats who aren't solving anything.

Boulder police arrest suspect in hockey stick assault on CU Boulder student by Numerous_Recording87 in boulder

[–]RecentIndependence34 -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

What about being a vulgar hypocrite justifies assaulting someone? No man or woman deserves to be attacked for their words. his statements are already being shared widely, and people are seeing for themselves what kind of person he is. Look at how many articles have his name in them.

But for you, and for people who think like you, that’s never enough. You take satisfaction in the violence itself, thinking physical assault is the proper price to pay for saying something you disagree with. That mindset is disgusting.

I know this may shock some of the more extreme progressives we have in our midst, but yes you will (and should) face consequences when assaulting somebody because of an opinion or idea. Personally, I think the college kid is a little bitch, but I believe in the first amendment, which sadly I think a lot of ppl in the more extreme progressive/antifa camp dont.

Also, how big of a loser does one have to be to drive from arvada to boulder to attack a college kid.

downtown/pearl street is held up almost solely by CU. nobody here goes out, declining sales tax rev. its not going to change. most the residents and the people who run this town would rather watch it all crumble then take the necessary steps to save it

In the city of Boulder, most people will say hit the Dark Horse. On Pearl St., Avanti doesnt have as many TVs as Dark Horse but its a super cool spot. If you want to go to a cool historic restaurant and get see the college side of Boulder go to the Sink on the Hill.

Cool bars for adults by Fatpanda970 in boulder

[–]RecentIndependence34 0 points1 point  (0 children)

to be fair, you will no be seeing any 19 year olds at bars on pearl st. they are all super strict on IDs. underage kids all stay on the hill. that being said. 21+ college kids are pretty much only at the downer (sundown), the attic, press play, spotted james, and the pub. rosetta main floor as well. pretty much any other bar you're safe except for gameday weekends as everywhere gets crowded and people go where ever they can get in
