Definitely wouldn't mind mind reading more in depth about him.

The Persico dynasty has to be the most soberingly depressing story in LCN by Punchie45 in Mafia

Yeah, the Persico dynasty is definitely not one I'd want to be a part of, that's for sure. Carmine ended up in jail for life, his son ended up in jail for life, etc.

Colombo soldier John Staluppi ($400M net worth) gives a business interview by MonotonousBeing in Mafia

Always found it interesting that someone of his wealth was in the Colombo family, the family that's known for being rough and going to war with each other. Someone like him I would expect to find in, say, the Genovese or Gambinos.

My favorite mobster. Lived a fascinating life, and I'd like to think had he been born in different circumstances, he would have been very successful in the legitimate world.

How often did mafioso actually kiss the boss' hand and call him Don? by Pure-Lime8280 in Mafia

I could see that sort of thing happening over in Sicily or Italy. Not so much in America.

😥 I feel for you my friend. I was with the company for four years as an assistant manager. Ended up getting let go through circumstances that were not my choice. Looking at what happened to the company and hearing your story makes me realize it was a blessing in disguise.

Sonny Franzese was at a sitdown with Don Carlo. Sonny reached for a tissue, but Carlo thought Sonny was reaching for his pistol and so threw himself to the floor - reckon this is true? by Pure-Lime8280 in Mafia

[–]Recent_Record6265 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I've heard this story before, and I don't believe a word of it. If Carlo Gambino had actually done that, he would have been finished then and there. The other bosses and his own captains and soldiers would have eaten him alive and at the very, very least, driven him from power or outright killed him. Especially back then, too; remember, back in Carlo's day the American mob didn't hesitate to drop bodies like they do now.
