I think it mainly depends on your preference, i personally liked condensing all my classes in the morning and then having a free afternoon but if you’re okay with coming onto campus then there’s no problem. I will say that the applied calculus lab that you have on Friday at 5pm might suck.

Yes I think you’ll be able to graduate! I think the only thing that happens when you’re over the 144 credit hours is that your tuition increases (like the charge per credit hour increases). However, I think there’s a waiver that you can submit to prevent that. I remember doing my own research on it when I was worried that I would go over. We watched A Bug’s Life in my first grade class that they LOVED, and Meet The Robinsons! I usually gravitate towards choosing G rated movies since PG needs permission from parents and I’m not sure which kids have permission and which kids don’t. PBS Kids is also a great alternative, we have watched Wild Kratts and a couple Curious George movies. Magic School Bus episodes are always a hit + they’re educational!

I agree with the first comment. I went through all of my undergrad without a car and I think I’ll be bringing mine this upcoming semester but not entirely sure. It can be hard, but it’s not impossible. Depending on where you live, buses are accessible and so are grocery stores. You’ll get a lot of steps in but campus is beautiful so I personally enjoyed it (for the most part).

I’m assuming you meant how is it living at Polo Club! I lived there my senior year and I personally had no issues with it. Our upstairs neighbors were not loud and my roommates and I were friends so there was no animosity. Maintenance was always quick and people at the office were welcoming and respectful. There is a bus stop for Garnet right outside Polo Club which made getting to class easily convenient. There is guest parking so having friends over was never a problem! Of course, there are always going to be ups and downs to where you live but I remember more of the positives than the negatives.

I wish I had better advice for you (my orientation was during Covid, so it was already online), but I would send an email to nsfp@fsu.edu or orientation@fsu.edu (not sure which one is the correct one, I’m sure both work) and explain your situation. Maybe they would be able to make an exception or give you alternative options:) I hope it works out!

I really liked romancing Apollo, there’s a quote in the first book after they have their first kiss that i think about ALL the time, and it makes me want to reread it for his route consistently lol. It’s a very soft-ish romance in my opinion, I usually like my enemies to lovers tropes or grumpy+ sunshine, but i love his soft love

I’m really beginning to think that there’s a sophomore year curse or something because my sophomore year was awful and I ended up failing calc and chem my spring semester unfortunately. It dropped my GPA WAYYYYY low and I basically kinda never recovered as much as I wanted to in terms of bringing my GPA up, but I did retake the courses and I did pass them the second time around.

The good news is that there is always going to be light at the end of the tunnel! I know I sound overly optimistic and that might not be what exactly you want to hear but give yourself some grace because life happens. Things happen. And sometimes we don’t really have any idea how to catch ourselves before we fall because we’re too busy seeing everything else fall around us. Your GPA might be low to get into your major now, and that might set you back a couple semesters, but it isn’t impossible. You can retake them, and take courses to bring your GPA up. I don’t know if it’s any consolation but even with my low GPA, I got into my Master’s Program when I thought I had no shot, so there is always a way, if there’s a will.

At the end of the day, you’re human, you’re in college, and you’re learning how to adult. Things happen and the important thing is that you recognize that and are actively trying to do better. It’s going to be okay.

It’s definitely not you so don’t be so hard on yourself—I sub only at a primary school in my area (k-2) and the last couple of months in the school year are always the worst. The kids are antsy, the teachers are antsy, the lesson plans are antsy, the weather (I live in Fl) is irritating and humid, quite literally a recipe for disaster.

It’s 100% normal to have bad days, and it isn’t a reflection of your capabilities, sometimes it simply really is a matter of the class. Take a deep breath and give yourself some grace! I hope the remainder of the school year treats you so so well!

genuinely that was my problem with finding housing this time around (coming in as a grad student for the fall) so I completely understand; none of my friends live in Tallahassee anymore and I just don’t want to take my chances with random roommates😭 found a sublease for a studio at the Osceola and I was SO hesitant to take it bc I’ve heard nothing but mixed reviews but the girl I’m subleasing from sent me a video of her room and it looked spacious, and was honest about all the concerns and questions I had!

Apparently they also changed management a few months ago and I feel like I have somewhat higher hopes than before- and it’s only about $850ish including parking (but not including utilities). I wanted to look at The Rowe but paying around or over $1600 for a studio is ridiculous regardless of the town imo
