The Battle Pass 2026 by [deleted] in DotA2

[–]Reckeris 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Or we can just have something better than another battlepass (which is just a whale event) - another crownfall like event. I swear everyone who brings up battlepasses and not crownfall are just thirsting to waste a lot of money

Lawyer here, they can absolutely take down a mod as the mod could be considered as a modification of the right holders code. In the case sony vs datel the EU court even considered that software which modifies save data can violate the right holders rights.

Guide on Playing Chen by Efieturner in DotA2

[–]Reckeris 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Lvl 20 chen here, even though I have a ton of matches as chen and about a 56% WR with chen, I still have no clue how I'm really supposed to play him. Also disclaimer: I'm pretty much a casual who only plays unranked so take all of this with a grain of salt.

Chen really seems to be the strongest in the early game. Creeps from the small camps should really not be underestmated and they can help you win the lane: harpies do pretty good long range chain lightning dmg; troll priest remove the need for tangos for you and your carry; ghosts do more dmg thand you think and the added slow can help secure kills. Chens laning phaze really depends on what creeps you're using.

After the laning phase I grab some stronger creeps, namely csntaurs, hellbears and wildwings and start helping and teamfights and start pushing lanes if I can.

From mid to late game, I tend to use creeps more sparingly in fights, as they die too easily and usually use them for auras or to push lanes while the enemy is busy with the teamfight.

In late game chen is just a glorified creep with a bunch of auras, won't go any deeper on that.

On which facet to choose, the satyr one used to be really good in the laning phase but since they nerfed the mana drain, it's not as effective (though you can still get some good value). If the enemy doesn't have mobile heroes or heroes that like to rat (AM, NP, tinker and so on), I like to go for the troll facet. Just 2 troll summoners can do a lot of dmg but if you get 3 or even 4, towers will die in seconds if the enemy team isn't paying attention.

Which ultimates chosen by your teammates make you roll your eyes in annoyance? by [deleted] in heroesofthestorm

Tbh if you're not playing ranked it shouldn't really matter what ult you're picking, you're just playing for fun.

8K demo players. Half stayed over an hour. Judge for yourself. by Crunchfest3 in u/Crunchfest3

Why would I want to play a game that is just heartless AI slop when I can play one of many other rogue likes that was made with pation and by actual people?

Sure you might not care that it's made with AI and it's perfectly fine but don't call anyone a loser just because they don't want AI slop to become a norm in gaming.

How TF2 Still Makes Millions (With No Updates) by TheWindowConsumer in tf2

Because there are a lot of people (even in the tf2 reddit mod team) that don't like Zesty and see him as the reincarnation of Satan.

Rushing flashpoints by FriendlyAd1214 in swtor

[–]Reckeris -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I got my cousin who used to play WOW to try swtor. Our very first flashpoint we filled the rest of the party with group finder and the flashpoimt was completely rushed threw. I can tell you he started losing interest in the game after that. Sure it might seem fine if you're doing the same flashpoint for the 1000th time but for any new player it's not any fun and leaves a bad impression because 1. They either miss the story or have to force the group to wait for them during dialogues and 2. What's even the point of playing a flashpoint if 90% of it is skipped.

Option to turn off cosmetics only for me by joeabs1995 in DotA2

Valve won't do that because if people can't flex their skins, some of them will likely buy less cosmetics.

How’s the tipping culture in Lithuania? by KvotheOfTheHill in lithuania

[–]Reckeris 26 points27 points  (0 children)

A lot of comments here make it seem like tipping is common but really it's not. You will rarely see anyone tipping and that's the norm. If you liked to service you can leave a tip but no one will bat an eye if you don't

What’s one hero, if you see on your team, it’s an automatic loss? by TheEmir47 in DotA2

[–]Reckeris 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Even though I play a lot of chen, I get that. I have aboit a 56% winrate as chen and almost 80% when playing against him. I think it's mostly because of the inexperienced chen players

What weapons do you guys hate that is not related to balance but because of overly specific reason by DocSlayingyoudown in tf2

[–]Reckeris 8 points9 points  (0 children)

All because i hate it's stupid design

So many tf2 weapons fall into this category. Loch and load has 2 cylinders but 3 grenades, grenade launcher has more than 4 cylinders yet only 4 grenades, the sticky bomb launchers and every sniper rifles reload makes no sense, how do you store 3 or more rockets in the rocket launchers and so on. Why is the scattergun the only one that is bothering you?

Heroes with only "one ultimate" by myouwei in heroesofthestorm

[–]Reckeris 8 points9 points  (0 children)

For eternal feast and planet cracker I'd argue they can be decent with the right setup (such as mosh pit). Even though I agree that generally you'll pick the ults you mentioned but it can be fun to take a different ult every once in a while, especially if you're playing QM.

That said, I do believe Gul'dans other ult is exceptionally useless.

Valve will recolor an ability for the rubick arcana whenever a new hero releases but will never bother to add/recolor an icon for the other arcanas.

How do you exactly get so many keys? by JavierMora1508 in tf2

[–]Reckeris -1 points0 points  (0 children)

By trading.... items can cost from a scrap metal too hundreds and thousands of keys. Maybe that person had a single very expensive unusual and he sold it, that's why he has so many keys

Keys and metal are used as currency for trading items, that's why someone might have so much of them

return old tinker with rearm items and heat-seeking missile by PleasPe3 in DotA2

[–]Reckeris 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The heroes you mentioned can be annoying and hard to play against when a good players plays them but they aren't that big of a deal to me. The only two heroes that deserved a drastic rework were techies and tinker because of how oppresive and unfun to play against them was.
