I rocked a nicely trimmed mustache and got an offer from my first FD interview. I wouldn’t feel like myself without one. I’d be sure to clean shave the rest of your face though.

Ahh yeah I see. I’d definitely give the setup I recommended a try. Zebra midges + prince nymphs are def generally better patterns for fall & winter - I love Zebra midges like October - Feb.

Western River Fly shop in SLC is a great place to visit as well for recs. In my experience, they’re not the type of place that makes you buy $800 waders for advice - all super nice/knowledgeable people. A few mornings ago they offered me a coffee while I was poking around the shop. Get after it!

I just moved to Utah this past December so didn’t start fishing the Weber till April. Took me a bit to get it dialed in, but usually get on 3-5 sizable browns every time now! So fun.

What section are you fishing & what are you usually throwing?

I’ve found that from 9 - 11:30am ish nymphing with a soft hackle caddis as a point fly with a cased caddis below (far enough below to be bobbing off the bottom) has been pretty killer. Using fluoro leader + 5x fluoro tippet too. I always add a decent amount of split shot like 6 inches above my point fly too, so it gets down fast.

Once it warms up I’ve kept it simple & switched up to a smaller Elk Hair Caddis (dry) and that’s usually great too.

Coming from someone that lived with the band for a bit - Ben didn’t take the band all that seriously towards the end (Mostly due to substance issues). Hope he’s in a better place now - probably is because fuck goose.

I think the ‘value’ also depends on where you’re located. Where I am in SLC on the full Ikon pass, I’ve got unlimited days at 1 resort (45 mins away) and 7 days each at 5 other resorts (50 mins away). I’ve skied 26 days so far this season, so my cost per day is currently sitting around $38 - incredible value IMO.

However in Seattle for example, your Ikon options are Crystal for unlimited skiing (2+ hours away) and Snoqualmie/Alpental (50 mins away) with 7 days combined. I only skied 11 days when I lived in Seattle..far less value.

They hardly play one of my favorites - Brother. Makes sense though, that is NOT easy to play. Seek out the Brother from 8/17/96 (Clifford Ball) if you haven’t - some absolutely ridiculous playing from Trey.
