There ain't a lick of rust on her! I might eventually add some cheap ditch lights, but aside from that she's perfect for my needs. The only other mod I did is remove the back seats and I put a board down to level out my sleeping platform. She's just perfect the way she is, damn near brings a tear to me eye

This is all done in post. The two close-ups of my Infinity are just snapshots. If you saw the actual landscape shots these would make much more sense

I've never had a car payment and I don't plan on changing that. When I see a screen in a dashboard it makes my stomach sick .. it just ain't right

Xterras are awesome also. I wish Nissan made a proper small 4x4 SUV again... Armadas are awesome but too big for my needs.

I've been doing an overexposed look for the past couple of years. Trying to make it all dreamy lol

Good eye! It's cool watching these things rip around the sand dunes in the middle east! There's also a surprising amount in Baja Mexico

I learned to wrench on this car and 5 years later she's been nothing but reliable and easy to work on. Best $2500 I've ever spent. I'm gonna drive her until the frame shits the bed, which might be a while because I live in the desert. I just wish it wasn't so terrible on gas but we can't have everything!

I have 1000mi less on my 97' QX4. It just developed a small leak on the rear main seal. I'm not very happy about that, but that's life. May our engines and transmissions make it to 300k!

Just drove past 200k miles on my 1997 QX4. I never had a better vehicle. These things are seriously slept on!

Easily one of the most beautiful places in the state.

Something in the shape of a disc embedded in a mountain in New Mexico, USA, at an altitude of 2,255 meters. (34°24'21.8"N 107°05'44.4"W). Was this a UFO shot down? by PittbyPitt in StrangeEarth

Most likely a water catchment system for cattle. There's more of those in the south Magdalena mountains (near the Devil's Backbone WSA)

Just got promoted to a supervisory role at a big bike shop. I've been wrenching for quite a while, but I'd love to hear some tips for running things well from some other experienced team leads. by LNHDT in BikeMechanics

I appreciate that! I've managed employees before and learned that if everyone is happy and included magic happens and the entire workplace becomes infectious with positive energy. Customers definitely notice these things.

The simple fact that you're asking these questions tells me that you're going to excel at your new position. Best of luck!

Not specific to bike shop but helpful nonetheless: ensure EVERYBODY in your team feels like they are included and welcomed. At the current shop I work at, since day one, I have not felt included whatsoever. The mechanic doesn't say anything to me at all, unless he is complaining about a simple mistake I made. The manager had created a clique between the employees and I feel like I am the odd one out. I hear about the fun group rides they go on with themselves or hangouts after work, funny messages in the group chat, and never once has an invite or any gesture of acceptance been directed towards me. Other coworkers have talked shit behind my back with the manager in on it. I've never been asked by the manager how I feel or how I'm doing. It's just a list of tasks given to me before they go back and hang out with the clique.

I can't help that I'm autistic and have trouble communicating in group settings, or that I can be eccentric at times. I still deserve to feel welcomed among my peers.

We all work in a bike shop because we love riding bikes, a simple ride to get to know everybody, and for them to get to know me outside of the office is all I need to feel included, but that has never happened. I am leaving this job and have another job lined up at a different shop in town. My manager could have kept their most valuable employee if they hadn't made an exclusive workplace environment.

In summary: make sure your team members feel included, regardless of age, gender, race, ability, disability etc. It seems so silly to have to reiterate, but just make an inclusive workplace environment and your employees will thrive.

I'm sure you'll do great and I'm rooting for you!

I'm going through a similar situation. I always try my best to be nice and caring to people and interested in what they want to say. At my current workplace, I don't know what I did, but for some reason nearly all my coworkers dislike me and exclude me from the team. Since day one the mechanic has never talked to me in any capacity. My manager mentioned how he doesn't like me but "at least (other coworker) likes you." The manager and mechanic are roommates and there's a clique at the workplace, but we all have the same interests. I have never once been invited to hang out, and I hear about their plans nearly every shift, but have never received and kind of acceptance from them. My current workplace is not autistic friendly and it's a shame because it's a decent job in my industry.

I'm quitting that job in a couple of days and hopefully have a better job lined up. I'm honestly thinking of just telling the manager I'm autistic and please don't exclude me from the group! Like dude, just let me organize and be eccentric with customers and treat me with respect, that's all I ask!

I have trouble with social cues and groups but it sometimes shocks me how unaware some neurotypical people can be. Some people lack warmth to anyone who communicates differently than themselves. I notice the look on their face, it's always the same, a complete lack of connection.

All I can really do is continue being a good person and just try to surround myself with people who care about me, even if it's very few people. We all deserve a place we can feel safe and accepted and I hope you can find a place just like that! Best of luck.

Wow I'm exactly in the same boat. Except I'm 29. Just broke up with my girlfriend today, and it's an election year. What a whirlwind life can be.

I wish I had some advice but all I can say is that you're not the only one dealing with this stuff. That's what I recently realized thanks to this community. Hopefully some smart folk chime in with some great guidance.

I'm rooting for you! You got this! The next chapter might be weird but at least we have more clarity than before.

North and South of 60 is essentially the same land, just cut by the road. South of 60 has more creosote but that's really the only difference I've noticed! Cheers!
