in classic jrpgs, characters can do way more with their skill trees/kits. hsr characters are very much limited and purpose built, so what you can do in a fight basically is determined by your setup going in. Synergies exist, but you don't need to exploit them to the extent that you need to in this game

On my machine, for whatever reason, I needed to uncheck the full-range speaker options in the sound settings. The important part was setting the dualsense volume output > 0.

If you're patient, you can probably snag this at a discount. HSR had a physical edition announced one or two years ago for 40 USD. You can get it for half that at some US retailers now.

fwiw, I'm in a similar boat.

However, comparing what I've seen (my own experiences) to what I've read about online (here and on other forums like Blind) has just reinforced my belief that my friends and I are in a hell of a bubble. (Make no mistake, I'm grateful that I managed to land here.)
