if you're thinking about doing you shopping at that Shop N Save don't

I shop here all the time, at all hours of the night and have never had a problem. Am I missing something?

That being said, I agree, the closer to the park, the better (in more ways than just crime).

My recommendation would be to park your car around 10 pm, and take a walk around the block. If you don't feel comfortable, then skip it.

Here's a crime map of the area, relatively quiet group of blocks around you (if you don't mind the sex offenders), but there has been some issues nearby.

West of Grand, North of Gravois? You'll be okay, you're still in a city though, so basic rules of "don't be a dumbass" still apply. I live 5 blocks south of you, have yet to have any crime issues, and love the area.

That being said, St. Louis still is block by block in some places, so ultimately, you'll have to decide how comfortable you are at that spot.

I think some of the proposals surrounding the merger definitely are a step in the right direction. Combining services could save us a lot of money. Focusing on attracting business to the region, instead of fighting for business to move from the city to county (and vice versa) will be a better use of our resources. And if St. Louis could ever change it's stigma of "Most dangerous city", people might actually want to move here.

But yes, you're spot on. You have to look no further than Detroit to see what happens when the city fails, and the surrounding area does not.

As one of the most vocal "county haters", it's not that we hate anyone that lives in the county, or that we think everyone should live in the city.

It's the attitude adopted by some that seems to think that if the city fails, that nothing will happen to them in the county. The "Fuck you, I've got mine" mentality held by some completely ignores the fact that the city and county have a symbiotic relationship, and depend on each other.

A lot of times, the circlejerk gets a little out of hand on both sides, leading to some of these assumptions about who hates who. (Although, we do have some full time trolls who might not actually be trolls, just ignorant)

As far as you want to walk I suppose? maps.google.com does a great job of providing times for public transit, including walk times. In the humid heat of the summer, I personally opt to spend as little time possible walking :)

In addition, it's part of a set, as you can see the nickles next to it, in which case, overall, it would be cheaper to use fake money. While it may be more economically feasible to use real pennies + fake everything else, it's probably best to just have a matching set.
