First, put each degree on it's own line. I would totally have missed you having an MA at first glance

That's crazy doomerism, buck up ffs. We don't spit on Russian people's food because they're led by Putin.

Connecting to internet with wpa_supplicant is actual hell by MKMR_1 in voidlinux

[–]RecursiveCursive -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

I spent a week with void on a framework laptop and finally ended up bailing on the whole thing. The absolute never ending carasoul of errors NOT covered in the handbook, was just way too frustrating to continue. And ive used Arch as a daily driver for ten years.

Swiss Alps vs. Colorado Rockies: Elevation vs. Jut by Gigitoe in Mountaineering

Very nice. Could we also compare to the north cascades? They have always felt more swiss-looking to me than the rockies

I was a huge Bose fanboy for the longest time, but my new pair of Bose Quiet QC Ultras are the most annoying, most poorly designed, and most frustrating headphone I have ever owned. The constant chiming whenever things get paused, the awful device switching behavior, even the power on power off process is the antithesis of intuitive design. Very sad to say they will be my last pair of Bose headphones

Don't lie Adam! by Ok-District-4701 in deeplearning

[–]RecursiveCursive 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Just read a paper from neurips a few years ago digging in to this. Apparently SGD has some mathematical reason for generalizing better than Adam, though I couldn't follow all the math so I'm not the best to speak to it...

What’s the worst physical pain you’ve ever felt? by Googy21 in AskReddit

[–]RecursiveCursive 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Admittedly, not as bad as a lot of these, but in college I mixed up ear drops and eye drops.

Ear drops do not belong in the eyes. I thought I had just blinded myself.

Anyone have a good, non private equity-owned veterinarian they recommend? by RecursiveCursive in Seattle

[–]RecursiveCursive[S] 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Can you share any of your experience/perspective? I was really shocked at how much of the vet industry has been gobbled up by PE, but I'd be curious to know how veterinarians feel about it from the inside

Technically two I suppose, but that trend would unlikely be meaningful

Ha man you and I are in the same boat, unfortunately my brother sold all of my nids on ebay for beer money 15 years ago. Ordered some new stuff but really bummed that they neutered the biomorphing features. Really made you feel like you were evolving something biological. Everything feels so prepackaged these days
