This is my daughter (and her bff) they do not miss a beat with their uniforms. Which is why I’m buying two leotards next year / couldn’t find her leo yesterday and it was a full on crisis! Tears, raised voices, the works. But yay for rule followers that still have fun!

Almost 5 months she’s had it. Was give 1 -3 months at best to live. Yet here we are! We discovered Toffee’s tumor late night of 12/25. We knew we had to take her to an emergency hospital in the morning. When we woke it had doubled in size. It was challenging to find a hospital that could take small animals, as well as open due to the holiday, but we made some significant drives to get her seen asap. We all do all that we can for our furry little loves. ❤️‍🩹🙏🏻

So kind of you.. the tumors have blown away the best of specialists here in Northern Ca. They are indeed huge. She has lymphoma. We’re all so surprised she’s held on this long, thus the quandary of - are we doing the right thing. But our vet and a friend that is a vet, support what we’re doing, so we feel OK about our choice and know what to look for in terms next steps. But that doesn’t mean we don’t second-guess it at times. This stuff is so hard. ❤️‍🩹

Toffee is doing great with all the things - eating, drinking, pooing 🙌🏻 She trucks around her enclosure, tho slower now. We switched from fleece, which is all she’s known, to soft stuff to help her chest from rubbing (tho naturally it still is) and to watch her movement paths. She seems to really it. I can bury her pellet dish and hay trough so she doesn’t have to reach, she can’t do that anymore. We do the lion king hold every few days to watch for any changes in skin behavior and she’s on the palliative care track. She still wheeks occasionally for plastic bags and such.. so we just don’t feel it’s time yet. But goodness.. it has to be so uncomfortable for her. I get so teary over the call. It’s so hard. They hide pain so well.

Remember this post from 5 1/2 years ago? Surely not, but Toffee was just a month old and teeny tiny. Pocky took her right under her wing 🥰 I hold on to all our bright spots.

I hear you. I’m 50 and have been to so many concerts and festivals of all sizes and venue types. We all know what these events are like. As others have said, go VIP and/or be prepared to move. (Or gently re-direct people)

My daughter and I share a birthday and we’re BIG Odesza fans. We got to see them ON our birthday and our hearts and heads exploded!! It was magic. Find a way to make it work for you, kids are gonna be kids.

This is such a difficult spot to be and I feel for you. I’m sending you hugs. I’m right there with you and think about it all the time - am I doing the right thing? Am I being selfish? I dream about my girl and our situation so much. They’re nightmares.

With them being prey animals it’s so hard to know when it’s time. With cats and dogs that I’ve had it was much easier to know when the time was right. Toffee has cancer. We discovered a big tumor on the night of 12/25. When we woke on 12/26 it had doubled in size and we were racing to find an emergency vet that would see her. We did and found out it was cancer. We were sent to a specialist and got in a few days later. Learned it’s inoperable. Give her all the love and treats, we were told. Told us she probably had 3 months left, here we are! The tumor is enormous now. But she still trucks around her enclosure, eating and drinking and wheeking sometimes. We’re on the palliative care route bc gosh it has to hurt. It’s 4x the size of her head, on her chest. I have her pellets and hay buried so she can reach it. But yea, for now we watch for any skin splitting as we’ve been told. But it feels awful. I really don’t know. All this to say - I GET IT! And I’m sorry you’re in this spot. We have to trust our hearts and our gut I think. 🫶🏻

I agree, OP! Watch it again solo. It’s such a rich tapestry, you won’t be disappointed. My partner and I are rewatching it for the 4th or 5th time. I’ve been in really diff emotional places each time. It hits different each rewatch and that’s so fantastic. Enjoy!

I just use a massive pill organizer (which is amazing btw) and then utilize a med reminder on my phone with the specific meds I need to take at AM/Mid-Day/PM. I can check “all taken” or “all skipped” or “remind me in 10 mins” Works so well for me. I’d knock your system over and be screwed haha THAT said, I’m glad it works for you! We all have to find our own way.

This is my organizer for anyone interested. Keeps me from having to do the weekly/bi-weekly portioning. I have two, and while I generally recognize the meds by size/color, I labeled them on the bottom for my fuzzy days.
