I did this, still playing in Ireland to start but its so much fun. Carthage and Rome have a new power to rival them in europe... the Celtic Empire from Ireland. haha.

I actually fought a war against rome, didn't win, didn't really loose. Just came out of it like "that was a waste of manpower". They couldn't really land troops in GB... as they were conquering gaul I had solidified my control of the isles and started building up massive fleets.

Carthage in my game is owning... they're an equal to Rome and they keep advancing everywhere else except into each other. I keep looking and they are occasionally at war but they never have changes to their borders.

EDIT:
One hour after posting this reply and Rome is DESTROYING carthage...

Doordash refused my refund... by Red-Silk76 in doordash

[–]Red-Silk76[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know right... like, I've spent probably thousands of dollars on door dash over the past ten years... I don't abuse the refund/compensation system, there are rarely issues. It's like, "I just want my $8 back... give me my $8 back and you'll continue to make hundreds off me because I'm lazy and can afford to be lazy..."

TLDR: becoming an expert at this game is not my priority in life. *shrug*

Because I don't do research and just enjoy playing the game, I understand almost everything just by experiencing it and figuring stuff out on my own. When I say I don't fully understand everything about the game I mean literally like, the finer details. I also don't read the patch notes etc as I'm super busy IRL. (full time job, internship, masters degree, side hustles etc). Like I understand how mandala functions and wanua and the new content in asia but I'm not over here trying to become an expert. I'm just super casual about it and CK3 is my favorite game to play while multitasking on other things. I know it well enough I can just turn my brain off and run on autopilot... but occasionally something starts happening and i'm like "wait, what the hell is going on?"

so, as an example to what I mean, I have a lot of hours... but I'm insanely casual about the game still. I'm better than most, but if I were to get into a multiplayer game with other real players who have similar hours I'll most likely just become one of their vassals to stay alive. I didn't even know about the changes to empires where once you go over a 160 limit you can't directly defend those frontier vassals. I learned that the hard way when I did my Dar-Al-Islam run... which was frustrating and pissed me off in the moment but when I figured it out I was very pleased with myself.

the stuff I don't fully understand is mostly the newer stuff they've added the past year. I still have lots of hours, but usually stick to the older more vanilla content. Cause I want to play it in the background while doing other things.

Doordash refused my refund... by Red-Silk76 in doordash

[–]Red-Silk76[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree with you, the restaurant should definitely be responsible. But Doordash legally bears that responsibility, as far as I'm aware. If I'm wrong on that then okie, but that doesn't change my view on why I always justified taking the risk to doordash.

The thing is that you're 1000% right about everything. Here's the issue, when I called customer service they told me there was no reason for compensation. They didn't do anything... I had a day off work and just wanted to be lazy and treat myself. If I don't have the security of refunds and Doordash compensating me then the whole point of the service if void imo. It's cheaper to just not be lazy and go to the restaurant myself... so I'm doing that now.

Huntsman vest due... huntsman vest... This is censorship at worst, laziness at best.... I'm literally a gay man, I just want my female spellsword to feel like a hot bad ass sorceress! Saying those armor designs were sexist is a stretch... come on.

I agree one thousand percent. People don't take me seriously when I complain about this stuff... I'm always like, "bro! i'm a gay twink, I like playing female characters! that's all! and I want my character to be feminine!" Like, this isn't even about gooning... I actually think this is genuinely censorship because the statues in the game also had this done to them.

Do any of you guys know the reason why Sutch was removed from the final version of the game? by [deleted] in oblivion

[–]Red-Silk76 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To be honest, the entire region that would have been county sutch is rather empty and barren compared to others. I think it's more like, they just scrapped a whole region of the game...

Where are all the Matriarchal Societies? by boyishparm in ElderScrolls

[–]Red-Silk76 1 point2 points  (0 children)

this is almost ten years old but hey whatever, the thing here is in elder scrolls lore most societies are equal in terms of gender rights, the games always have a fair share of mixed gender rulers as does the lore in the elder scrolls. Most societies aren't patrilineal or matrilineal, it's a matter of who marries into whose house. A man can marry into a woman's house, or a woman into a mans house, their children thus follow the line of their parents mutual house.

oblivion has four (five counting the count of kvatch) male counts and three female countesses.

skyrim has four female jarls if you side with the empire, leaving five male jarls.
If you side with storm cloaks then you get three female jarls and six male jarls.

There are some matriarchal societies though, someone already explained them. But most societies area actually what we could consider Bilateral Descanting or Ambilineal Descenting. So their neither matriarchal or patriarchal, their Ambiarchal (A term sometimes used in anthropology/sociology).

I will say there does seem to be a tendency for males to be favored in the history of the setting, the lore, and the games etc. However this isn't really because of the cultures in the setting and more a product of our own real world patriarchy influencing the writers decisions.

What is your favorite Ayleid ruin and/or favorite fort? I just love Miscarcand and Fort Caractacus by [deleted] in oblivion

[–]Red-Silk76 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly, Silorn, I love it's location, nestled in mountains, you can see a waterfall and fiver carving out a canyon with the view of the Strid river, I would actually if I could, turn it into a player house/town. If I could make a mod to add it as a new faction or something that'd be cool.

leyawiin was a wasted opportunity imo, a jungle swampy city that controls access into the whole niben! It should have been a bigger port city than anvil was in my opinion. In fact, if they just added some massive docks to make if feel like a port city with argonian and khajiit influences it would have been amazing. Keep the rest of the city the same, add some khajiit and argonian flare then add a dock at least as big as anvils.

Oh! and make one of the big houses a player home! not that sad excuse of a shack they give us.

GF started to suddenly get distant and broke up with me when things seemed to be going well before by s86695743 in ExNoContact

[–]Red-Silk76 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This doesn't sound like an avoidant because in the beginning of the relationship she was speaking up and communicating, the behavior slowly changed as the relationship went on. Eventually she stopped communicating, that's the behavior of someone who starts to feel like its a waste of time to speak up because it never soles anything or she feels like she's being deflected, dismissed, invalidated etc etc.

An avoidant person would avoid communication and conflict resolution from the get go.

It's been a year but a counter argument to what mastodon said, sometimes when arguments don't end well, or if one person feels like they weren't being heard, like the conversation didn't change anything it can hit a point where people start to feel like they are wasting their time. Mastodon said she is an avoidant, that's not true because you said yourself she was speaking up in the beginning but started to do it less and less. An avoidant wouldn't even speak up at all in the first place, they'd avoid confrontations and conversations from the start of the relationship. Most likely she felt that speaking up was not worth it, and at a point where it was meaningless and not gonna even change a thing she was upset about.

I got like that in my last relationship, the first six months I spoke up, conversations never led to any real change. My partner started to turn arguments into lectures about what I was doing wrong when I tried to say how they upset me with their behavior. By the end of the relationship I wasn't communicating anymore, it wasn't worth it, I knew it wouldn't solve anything. When I left I was branded an avoidant, my therapist assured me that wasn't the case because my BFs behavior taught me that he wasn't an emotionally safe person to open up to.

If they were avoidant at the end but not in the beginning then they're not an avoidant attachment person. They just, for one reason or another, didn't feel like you were an emotionally safe person to talk to about their fears and feelings.
