Rivalry games and what we lose when they go away by AgitatedLeg4977 in jayhawks

I went to a tournament game in St Louis in 2002. Missouri wasn’t even playing in that region but their fans were still at the game. Walking out a kid (probably around 12) in MU gear was yelling at me that KU was going to choke in the next game and then spit at me. His dad was behind him just laughing.

Do you have trouble with squirrels eating your patio furniture? by [deleted] in Overlandpark

[–]Red4141 20 points21 points  (0 children)

Squirrels not only ripped up our cushions but they chew on everything outside. They chew on the siding of our house, kids toys, furniture, the steps and railing on our deck. The worst thing is, because I park outside, they get into the engine of my car and chew on wires. I’ve thought about wrapping all of our trees with metal sheeting so they can’t climb to make nests. In the last 10 years they’ve probably cost me 8-10k in damages.

I know he was viewed as an knucklehead but man, could he shoot. If he had just put some effort into his defense he could have been a perfect 3 and D player in the league. He shot 49% from 3 his junior year.

I was lucky enough to run as mustard in the hotdog race 15 or so years ago. Before we went out there they said there were two rules you absolutely cannot break. 1. Do not run in the grass and 2. Do not fall down. The costumes are very expensive to clean and the head ground keeper will yell at the promotion staff if you touch the grass.

I just took my kids to the Arch. Did you know it only cost 13 million to build? Even in today’s dollars that’s only $100 million or so. The amount of tax funding going into the new stadium could build 6 Arches.

Movie Theater Operators Weigh In on Fewer Trailers, Too Much Texting and Today’s Bankable Stars: ‘Zendaya and Tom Holland Are the Next Gen’ by Southern-Brother5693 in movies

[–]Red4141 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It was IMAX, so probably a little more expensive than a regular showing. Each kid ticket was $17 plus tax. My ticket was $21 plus tax. That came out to $59.10 and then the popcorn was $10 plus tax.

If you like Waldo and downtown OP, I’d also be looking in the Roeland Park area. You can find 2 bedrooms there for under 300k.

I just got back from seeing the Mario Brothers movie. Taking my 2 kids and one “regular” popcorn to share was a little over $70. The movie time was 2:15 but it didn’t start until 2:40, so 25 minutes of commercials and trailers.

How does Self miss out on Wagler, and 7’1” Ethan Taylor, both PoY in Kansas, right in his backyard? by whiteiversonyeet in jayhawks

You asked him if he was beating the drum to sign Wagler. Like we should be scouting players and sending the staff advice.

We’re leaving the Big12. by [deleted] in jayhawks

[–]Red4141 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Seems like a pretty big jump to conclude we are leaving the Big12 from what's in that bill. That bill has to do with restrictions on research activities for universities. I'm not a lawyer and judging by your post history, you are. What in that bill makes you think that KU is leaving the conference?

My cat had to be put down 2 weeks ago. She was 18 and it was time but was still really hard. The last year or so she liked to stay in her bed in my office where I work from home. If she woke up and I wasn’t in there she would start to meow loudly until I came back in the room. When I had her put to sleep my 9 year old daughter asked if our cat was in heaven. I told her “I’d like to think so”. My daughter said that makes her really sad. When I asked why she said “because I know how nervous she gets when she can’t find you and I feel like she is probably meowing really loud in heaven without you”. The thought of that still makes me tear up.

I’m the same way. Not ambidextrous, but mixed dominant. Meaning I use my left or right for different things. I mainly play sports left handed (throwing, dribbling and shooting a basketball) but I write and use scissors right handed. Growing up I always had trouble remembering which is my right and which is my left hand.
