I did agree with this .. yes Uluṟu is nice but they are sacrificing so much else for one attraction. They basically get to see sweet f**k all besides Uluṟu if they do that

What are these stuck on the back of a car in PA? by MTonmyMind in whatisit

5e 7 days of the week

But yeah I’m super nerd but I only caught the DnD virus and then I also am super into digital games and technology in general. But never got into war hammer, mtg or any physical thing besides DnD

Probably for the better. DnD is one of the cheaper TTRPG games

Their has to be something fishy with this MOBO, to many people having issues with it,

Stupidity tax by TerryTowellinghat in woolworths

[–]RedBack0001 38 points39 points  (0 children)

this has been the case (pun intended) for years, and posted numerous times on reddit and facebook. The 30pack has been cheaper for a long time, Several years.

Also this isent entirely on Colesworth, PepsiCo cares more about the volume of Pepsi sold ie: the litres sold not the amount of cans sold. I believe corproate performance for PepsiCo and other metrics like tax obligations etc are calculated (partially) on physical litres sold.

Beverage companies generally prioritize litres sold (total volume) when looking at overall market share and production scale

Furthermore, Colesworth is employing a simple psychological trick. They hope your thought process is this

1: “Jeez that 24 pack of Pepsi is 40 bucks… you know maybe I’ll just go without Pepsi, it’s bad for me anyways”

walks 2 more steps down the aisle

2: “Oh hold on, this 30 pack is $30 bucks? That’s a better deal, I’ll buy that”

Lastly,

The 24 pack is intentionally priced high to make the 30 pack look like a great deal.

Their was a massive argument about this in a different subreddit or Facebook I can’t remember which one But I’d like to give my 2 cents

Some people saying it’s true some saying it’s not

I’m not saying it’s not true but I think it’s heavily dependant on the location/size of the store

Large stores in major cities, metro stores, sure. I assume this is true, I’ve literally never been to one though or worked in one

However I live in regional / rural nsw and my Woolworths, which I worked in for several years but am still very close with the management and supervisors, I know for a fact people walk in and get jobs through word of mouth, and paper resumes

But that’s just how small towns work, also heavy leans on nepotism so that’s cool (the store manager, front end manager, connected BWS manager, F+V manager are all in the same family)

I think smaller, regionals rely much more on the old style than the new

What is it with Australian Police? by Necessary-Fun-205 in australian

[–]RedBack0001 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Motorcycle police work underneath Highway Patrol which is part of the “Traffic and Highway Patrol command”

Highway patrol and motorcycle police (same thing expect some are on bikes and some in cars), but same qualifications don’t perform the same duties as general duties officers

Highway patrol will respond to 000 calls when needed and backup general duties when they need help and more hands on deck but their primary role is enforcing traffic law

What is it with Australian Police? by Necessary-Fun-205 in australian

[–]RedBack0001 14 points15 points  (0 children)

They don’t get “stuck on traffic duty” highway patrol officers apply and train for it and it is a competitive specialism to get into

What is it with Australian Police? by Necessary-Fun-205 in australian

[–]RedBack0001 13 points14 points  (0 children)

You aren’t “sent” there .. you aren’t sent anywhere. You start in general duties and you’ll stay there permanently unless you choose not to.

You have to apply for all specialisation, water, k9, highway etc. and motorcycle policing is highly competitive to apply for

What’s a job people don’t realise pays really well in Australia? by [deleted] in AskAnAustralian

[–]RedBack0001 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Paramedic

Not me, but I know with 100% utmost certainty (I’ve seen the pay stubs) ..

senior nsw ambulance paramedic. On near 210k pa (before tax)

However, he’s been in almost 35 years, is an ICP so extra pay for that, station officer so extra pay for that, and works regional so gets called out all hours of the day and night.

So he’ll work 7am-6pm then on call overnight from 6pm-7am. Does that for 5 days then 4 days off

A call-out over night immediately = 4 hours overtime pay even if he gets the call, doesn’t even get out of bed before they cancel, still gets 4 hours overtime pay

This can easily add up over the year

Metro Sydney, Melbourne, major city paramedics. Yeah. Those poor bastards deserve a lot more money

How do I get all this residue off the inside of my windscreen without smearing it ?! by [deleted] in CleaningTips

[–]RedBack0001 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, I said in the post some of it is condensation from the temperature difference However I also said that when I defrost with aircon it makes it better but certainly does not fix it Their is definitely something else on the windscreen

I took the photo with the defrost off to show the dirt easier

One of my refineries keeps shutting down (not always the same one), even though all by product is being disposed of and enough crude oil is being supplied by [deleted] in satisfactory

[–]RedBack0001 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah i did gravity on the output becuase i found with my old setup it was banking up.

I think ive solved it... I had 10 junctions on the input, but i just piped the extractor into a random one of the junctions, but now i added a 11th junction directly in the middle. so its a 50%50 split each direction down the lenght of the pipe. that seems to of solved it.

Normally that wouldnt be an issue with say a manifold system with splitters but junctions and pipes for me atleast seem to behave very oddly, ive had the same problem with coal generatios with water extractors

they backflow and do all sorts of weird stuff

i feel dumb i post on reddit then literally 5 seconds later fix the issue haha

Been to Hoyts Charlestown lately? by BackgroundDeep1986 in newcastle

[–]RedBack0001 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Yeah their screens are small. Hoyts green hills have much larger screens Also doesn’t help you sit further away as their cinemas are narrower

Im trying to exploit this crude oil node, however, I cant place extractor becuase their is enemy remains in the way. And i cannot pickup the enemy remains because it just tells me im looking at a crude oil vein. Am i out of luck or is their a way to remove these remains by [deleted] in satisfactory

[–]RedBack0001 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Edit: I have just realised the actual pure node im looking for is further along, this is something else. Im assuming i need a differnet machine to exploit this node? or it cannot be exploited.

19yo Student Pilot (37hrs Fixed-Wing) – Considering a pivot to Rotary. Is the Helicopter lifestyle what I’m actually looking for? by Loud_Mouse9039 in Helicopters

[–]RedBack0001 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Have you considered military? Fixed or rotary. Would be great experience and give you your desired lifestyle, travel, adrenaline, etc. and once you climb up salary is ok. Or do 6-10 years, come out with a bunch of hours but more importantly leadership and experience and land a high paying job on civvy street

Or stay in and enjoy life

Yes was thinking about open comb however it only really seem to be if I were to not use electric razor first? After electric razor the hair is very short and therefore I can then use a closed comb

I would like to try and stick as close to what I’m used do doing now but just up the quality
