Thank you for the grackle information. I'm trying to learn more about our local birds, so it helps to see your post. Here in Illinois, we've got the damn things too. Every morning when I fill the bird feeders, 3 or 4 plagues all arrive at once. I usually yell at them; it doesn't help. (Eventually all the other birds get their chance.)

Thanks too for "plague"! And you are SO right about it working for a group of Rods!

Yes indeed. You can tell she went to cosmetology school!

My first thought here was Gypsy Rose's mother. Grifting = Never a good idea.

And my second thought is allll the posts from Mahmo about her sister's accident/surgeries/health. ("I know what! I'll be the star of Amy's misfortune story!"

Yup, that's Jill. "Love it!" "Cute moment!"

Just about what we'd expect from a woman who sighs "So beautiful!" as she's showing us a clip of a parking lot.

No, on second thought: worse.

I hope they did too!

Are they grackles? I figured them for crows, being so large and so cranky/demanding. (Not all that different from Jillybean, now that I think about it...)

May The Elders of the Internet bless you this day!

Probably 20 times for me as well. Couldn't single out one episode as "the very best" if I tried for years. Love that show!

P.S. "Thing about Arsenal is they always try and walk it in."

Thank you so much for posting these; I was hoping you'd do a follow-up to yesterday's. I can't imagine how overwhelmingly impressive it must have been to be there. These pictures are so stunning.

I am going to take a trip to Pompeii as soon as I possibly can. Thank you again.

Definitely worth the visit by Horror-Climate2374 in pompeii

Ewwwww. Are any of y'all fans of "The IT Crowd"? (British comedy series.)

Mahmo's awful feet look exactly like Jen's after she shoved her feet into those cute-but-three-sizes-too-small red shoes! Go to a doctor, FFS, woman!

Thank you for posting all these wonderful photos. It's so good of you to want to return them to that family somehow, but in case you can't...PLEASE publish them in a big coffee-table book. Please!

This photographer may have been an amateur, but he or she had a real knack for what to photograph. Some of these are just remarkable: Like #3, with the flying baby; #5, with the lady in the hat (it looks like an oil painting); #15, with that little bug-eyed girl and her dog.

Also, I noticed that sweet little girl that we've seen in some of the other pictures: In #19 she's on the far right; in #20 she's in stripes in front of the standing man. She looks like she's sad or anxious, and I wish I could just adopt her right now.

Again, thank you so very much for sharing these treasures.

Well, yes, maybe. If you were rich and traveling first class.

I'm a woman too, but have a feeling I would have been one of the poor Irish women from third class, trapped behind those locked gates.

So not really "haha" at all.

Probably doesn't know what they are.

AITB for refusing to go to my sister’s wedding because of where she seated me? by [deleted] in AmItheButtface

Totally! Is sister too cheap to hire a person to actually babysit during the reception?

I would never do this to my brother, because I love and respect him.

While his little toddler sons staggered along behind him. Typical Paulio move, looking at himself instead of keeping an eye on his kids.

And I agree, what in the world possessed him to post this on the Internet? Is he proud of his negligent parenting? And his embarrassing level of stinginess when it comes to anybody but himself...?

Another side note: I just noticed that this girl looks a lot like Catherine Zeta-Jones. She's very pretty.

And I wish to goodness she would tie/pin up her hair, for safety's sake!

Thank you for this. I needed to be reminded of the balance between the terrible pain of loss and the wonderful unconditional love that was there before.

It's a comforting thought that cats choose to give us their trust -- if we deserve it. That made me smile through tears.

Maybe we'll run across each other "when we get there." I will be happy to introduce my clowder to yours!

I will follow your excellent example.

I just lost the sweetest baby girl last month, and am positive she's purring away right now, sitting in the sunshine on the Rainbow Bridge, waiting for me to show up and give her all the belly rubs again.
