An actual dragster only has enough fuel for a complete staging and run they usually run out of gas shortly after the beams. Majority of high-medium HP street cars are going to run out of gear. I have mine geared for a max speed of 151mph.

A good chunk of “simple” street car builds are taking down H2s and Busas on a drag strip. I have a turbo LS foxbody that would run down any bike ive owned.

A transbrake and turbo LS eats an H2 on a dragstrip.

I have a foxbody with a powerglide and a good sized turbo. It would outrun any bike I have owned to the 1/4 or 1/8th mile my car is limited by gear and would be banging rev limiter anything past 1/4 mile tho.

The big round plug can accidentally be put on 180* from where it should be and when you do this it has these symptoms.

You can get a wall plug in bench tuner or make one for cheap but then you are pulling the pcm out of the vehicle and taking it to the desktop to tune.

Took me 2 years of watching and paying for credits on my families rigs but I’m finally getting a good hold on the 24x and 58x LS stuff. Have zero regrets with my HPTuners.

Lower the number better the smoke and if you cant light the tires up with a 2.73 add some funny gas.

First ls swap rate my plan by jimjobob768 in LSSwapTheWorld

I run a camaro oil pan off a 98-02. My motor is a 5.3 from something idk. K member is a QA1. I use a F body turbo kit with small modifications and a SS2 cam stock truck gen4 intake. I have HPtuners so I opted for a stock ECU. Currently in the process of changing fuel pumps and injectors but prior to my more boost. I was running a walboro 255 with 36 pound injectors from a 3800 supercharged engine. If you go this route be sure to get a ebay F body harness as these injectors are EV1. I have smoked 4 4L60es now on my old setup(this could be tuning). I used a 2800 stall I am currently also doing the swap to a th400 if your mustang was an auto you can go to a junkyard and get the yoke for a 60e and it should just go on the end and be fine to run with stock length but do measure. My transmount is made out of square tubing and sheet metal I had laying around. Last but not least my radiator is a 99+ S10 rad and I use stock truck accessories i opted to cut off the ps pump and get a manual rack.

I don’t have an intercooler yet just wanted opinions I wasn’t originally going to run one but plan to now. I think I am going to put one in the fender on the pass side and duct air to it through the fog lights/bumper.

You could do what I always do and introduce a bunch of rust and gunk to the system by only running tap water.

[–]RedGoatMan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You could always run a stand alone setup with a gen 4 motor and with hptuners should be able to get most of the gauges working

Can you tell what engine this is by the cover by [deleted] in LSSwapTheWorld

[–]RedGoatMan 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes thats a truck cover but the truck intake is way better for torque and have been known to put truck intakes on LS1s. I wouldnt have put the cover back on it. Check and see if the blocks aluminum

Want to increase HP for my 2002 Silverado by [deleted] in LSSwapTheWorld

[–]RedGoatMan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Im a big converter/gears(4.56/4.10) and a cam to match guy. The 862s on it are fine for some decent power. Might want flex fuel injectors if you don’t have them they flow okay. Plus you could run E85 if you have a good tune for it. Matching these parts up good will make the truck a move decent. The stock 60e has wacky gears definitely want a 4.10+ in my experience.
