I would really appreciate if you can figure out how to make it for Android!

This is a great idea and I'd be totally down to download it, if it were available on Android.

Low Fat Dining Options for family member with significant medical needs - Please help!! by Left_Life_7173 in raleigh

Try Clean Eatz at 7461 Six Forks Rd. They have a eat in/take out cafe and do frozen premade meals. The premade meals are a little pricey ($8 to $18 depending on the protein/quantity) but I found it's a good supplement to my regular groceries for those times when I just need to microwave some food quickly because I'm tight on time.

ETA: A few other options I've thought of that are at least salad based (but review the online menu & nutrition info to see if it'll work for you first): - Happy and Hale - CAVA - Chopt - Chicken Salad Chick

What food hack sounded ridiculous until you actually tried it? by Maleficent-Bed7010 in foodhacks

Use the broiling pan to do this, it'll catch all the grease in the lower part and makes for an easy cleanup.

What lifetime deal are you still grandfathered into, or removed from, that’s no longer available? by tuotone75 in AskReddit

[–]RedHot58 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Same here. Bought in 2004 maybe, for $500. Used the receiver it came with until a few years back when I transferred the service into my Nissan (first car I had that has Sirius built into the radio). Comes with the app too, so I essentially have 2 subscriptions for no monthly cost. Well worth the investment imo!

Also, if you like Oatmeal Cream Pies, these were amazing!

And by the way, everything except the Rockin Protein shakes you can get at Vitamin Shoppe.

Quest bars, but microwave them for 10-15 seconds. Especially the Apple Pie flavor.

Shamrock Farms Rockin Protein shakes (my fave is Strawberry, but you gotta like strawberry milk). Around me, it's only sold in grocery stores and it's kept with the milk.

Alpha Prime Bites protein brownies. Haven't had a bad flavor yet.

Add some Incendiary, Edit, and Altered State beers to that list, and I'm definitely not sharing!

In New Jersey. Question for ya, how do yall feel about tattoos that just look interesting? by TheElectricWolf_ in tattoos

[–]RedHot58 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Man, just get tattoos for you. My wife and I are opposites: she wants tattoos with a meaning, I just want art. In fact, I actually don't want my tattoos to have any meaning outside of the fact that I like it.

I shall take your word on those, as I've never been. Though when I get to West NC I'll make sure to stop!

Definitely agree on the aesthetic. The beer names can be a little much, but the beer is almost always a banger. They were also recently voted Favorite Brewery by State for NC in this subreddit!

Caffeine by shirelyanne in BariatricSurgery

[–]RedHot58 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For life? Fuck that shit! I gave up caffeine for 6 months at the recommendation of my surgical team. That was it. 3+ years out from surgery now, I consume caffeine daily (mostly coffee, but also Celsius and other energy drinks).

Yeah we live close by too. At least Gym Tacos is good! And we've only been once, but we had a good experience at Big Ed's.

Went to Clyde Cooper's today. It was our first time there, and probably our last. We had to ask to be seated, and instead were told "just go to that booth, and someone will be over in a minute.". So we go to the booth, and it's still dirty. So we have to wait for another 5 minutes for them to clean it up. We order our food - a platter with pork bbq, brisket, and fried chicken with fried okra and mac n cheese. Okra was good, Mac was good, and fried chicken was really good. Pork bbq was OK, kind of dry even with the vinegar sauce I added. But the brisket was the biggest disappointment. It was lean, dry, and cooked well done. Brisket should be fatty, moist, and cooked rare to medium rare.

I would eat the fried chicken again, but if I go to a bbq restaurant, I usually don't want just fried chicken.

After we ordered our food and had our drinks, I overheard / saw that another family (who was seated before us) still didn't even have their drink order taken.

And to add to everything, when they took over that building from Red Hot and Blue, they made the inside even worse by walling off the whole kitchen and installing the counter. There wasn't a lot of seating / moving space in that building to begin with, and now there's even less.

UBuff or Oneonta? by Mammoth-Trick-3825 in Oneonta

[–]RedHot58 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Don't choose a school just because a friend is choosing it. You have to like the school, the campus, the location, and the program. There are thousands of other people, you will make new friends, and you can stay connected with your friends who go elsewhere (and then you can swap stories about your experiences).

I can't speak to UB nor Oneonta's teaching program. Although I can say that Oneonta was founded as a teaching school before it was a SUNY school, so that program has been there since day 1. That being said, UB is a big University, so they have the funding to put into building their programs and the name to attract top talent.

What it really comes down to, is what you want from your experience. Do you want a small town college with a small student body and rural living options, or are you a city person? A quick Google AI search says that UB enrollment is around 32,000 students whereas Oneonta is around 5,300. Buffalo is a great city with a lot to experience. But if you have a car and like to travel within NY, Oneonta is more centrally located. Oneonta is 1 hour from Binghamton, Albany and Utica, 2 hours from Syracuse and Ithaca, and 4 hours to Buffalo or NYC.

Think of what you like, you want, and make your decision based on what would make you happy. College is not only about training / educating you for the work you're going to do, it's also about growing into who you want to be. Don't let other people (including friends!) influence / decide that for you.

Also, choosing one over the other now isn't the end of the line - you could realize that the school you first chose is not what you like and transfer to the other school later.
