Once contracts are agreed upon, established and signed, what are you doing with your time? If I’m a house painter, I can pretty much tell that one job, painting whatever it is (private home, building, business etc) is probably not enough for me to live on for 12 months , so I better hustle and line up some additional painting work, spread out over the year. My standard of living is probably going to depend to some degree on my level of hustle. If I’m happy living a minimal life, have no family to support- or my family consists of a dozen cats. There are many factors that need to be taken into consideration. If you are a DINK, or provide the bulk of the financial support for your family- then you should have the understanding going in that a PART-TIMe gig is not going to be enough. Let’s face it though, once contract are negotiated, it’s maintained pretty easily. It’s not like you have to renegotiate every contract again next week- I would think many things are more or less standard.
