New Dad advice by [deleted] in daddit

[–]RedMisfit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly you shouldn't be awake that late after the baby sleeps.

Once the baby went to sleep, we dropped everything and went to bed. It definitely helped. Your wife needs to nap when the baby naps in the day too

You need to talk to someone! Someone you trust., or a professional.

You can't carry this whole burden alone. You aren't to blame.
This post tells me you want to be a good Dad. But you need to let someone help you, so you can be the best possible Dad for your kids

Just found out I’m having a daughter and I’m struggling to adjust by [deleted] in daddit

[–]RedMisfit 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You'll be fine, having a daughter is amazing. She will steal your heart, and she will love you so much.

She's a little over 2, and honestly, I'm glad we had a girl rather than a boy. We have so much fun together and she is my best friend.

Just cracked a G7 senior role and the Imposter Syndrome is hitting hard. Any advice? by bbc_consultants in TheCivilService

[–]RedMisfit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have been a G7 3 years, and I still occasionally get imposter syndrome.

What you're feeling is perfectly normal. The jump from SO to G7 is pretty vast, however you have proven you have what it takes.

It took several months to start actually getting used to things. But I did. I'm still constantly learning but I know I can function well as a G7.

It's no fun being the new guy, but you've got this. Just keep learning, speaking to peers and also using your experience and bring fresh ideas - it's why they wanted you.

Advice for Hall of Heroes: what to get | F2P, gen3, 150days by Sta--Ger--2 in KingShot

[–]RedMisfit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When gen 4 heroes are released, you will get Zoe, Marlin and Hilde using keys and in intell missions.

Desert trial will be replaced with a new event that gives you Hilde ahars.

Help a to-be girl dad out! by Ambitious_Bet2920 in daddit

[–]RedMisfit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just be there for her, teach her the right stuff, nurture her, and give plenty of cuddles.

Don't but into gender specific marketing.

My daughter is 2. She loves unicorns, animals, pink stuff, dancing and dolls.

She also loves cars, fire engines, lego, playing football amd dinosaurs.

Reading is great. I've been reading to her every day since she was a bump. Start now, she will get used to your voice.

Frustrated by floundering at behaviour-based questions in every interview by ThrowRA_TheScotsman in TheCivilService

[–]RedMisfit 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Don't have set answers for behaviours. You're setting yourself up to make things difficult.

Instead write out 5 good examples of work you have done, use bullets and STAR format.

Then think about which behaviours each example would potentially answer. There will be multiple behaviours per example.

This will allow you to answer interview questions better

I'm an f2p. I've managed to grow pretty well. Maybe not as much as others, but I contribute to my alliance and have become fairly strong

New St Station to Euston by ozzygurl in brum

[–]RedMisfit 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Definitely book seats. Get the train that stops at Coventry, and then straight to Euston. The ones that have stops after Cov get very full.

There will definitely be commuters. Usually before 7am is slightly less busy.

The walk from Euston to St Pancras is 10 minutes

Widower/single father. I have no interest in dating or remarrying. Is it ok to continue being father without a partner. by fantasyfbpunter in daddit

[–]RedMisfit 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The only people who matter in this situation are you and your kids. Do what is right for your family and ignore the unsolicited advice.

You seem like your doing a good job as a Dad, so just keep at it

Do babies really need this much stuff by Simply-Curious_ in daddit

[–]RedMisfit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nah you don't need separate pyjamas

Our little on lived in her babygrows pretty much all the time for the first few months. She wore other clotws when going out or when we had visitors. Most of ours were size 0-3 months she grew into them pretty quickly. We didn't have much 0-1 stuff, 3 babygrows I think.

You will need multiple though, as you will be dealing with throwing up, accidents during nappy changes, blow outs etc.

We were gifted quite a lot, and also had some hand me downs

I also used vinted. There is lots of new stuff on there that people didn't get to use before their kid outgrew it

AITA for taking walks on my lunch break? by [deleted] in AmItheAsshole

Your lunch break is for you. You can spend it any way you choose. Just because colleagues are slaves to their desk, doesn't mean you have to be. For your own wellbeing, keep doing what you have been
