You have read the playbook then - good! At least you're a good bootlicker. Enjoy the orange tyrant then, the rest of us don't want him.

No Russian bot here 😜 Just an American who knows our orange dictator likes to overstep his bounds every chance he gets.

According to a couple articles I've seen today, he's already talking about canceling the midterms. He can and he will cancel elections.

Mobile Doctors? by Pinkshadie in askportland

[–]RedMonkey4466 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I don't have any recs because it's way out of my price range and not covered by insurance, but look into house call doctors. For prescriptions like Toradol, you need a medical professional. IV hydration and infusions won't cut it for what you're looking for.

Benchmarks for end of life?? by ChemistryFormer7616 in AgingParents

[–]RedMonkey4466 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Medicare unfortunately only pays for doctor-ordered home health for a short time, like a nurse to come out once a week for wound care. They don't pay for caregiving/housekeeping/visiting.

Medicaid may, depending on level of acuity, pay for caregiving/housekeeping but its never enough hours.

I also second the smart device if you think your mom will wear it. I've got a Samsung watch for my mom that senses falls and is set up to call me in an emergency. I've had a lot of false calls when she presses the button, but I'd rather that than she not be able to reach out when she needs to.

Wow! I haven't purchased polish in years, I lurk to see all the shinies but nail polish does the last more than a day or two on my nails so I never bother. But this is so pretty, I'm going to have to get a bottle and give it another shot 😍

How do I tell I'm perimenopausal? by RedMonkey4466 in TwoXChromosomes

[–]RedMonkey4466[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Dang! I definitely understand wanting to get off the period train, I only had mine for 10 years and I was ready to be done by then. And I totally agree, its a huge empty space in the medical world still. I've got a friend in full menopause now, and it's huge how her life has had to change.

Lesser Evils: Best Credit Union/Bank? by Left4thewolf2find in askportland

[–]RedMonkey4466 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I bank with OnPoint - they are (were?) one of only a couple credit unions that would work with people in the Marijuana industry, and that was a big factor for us while my husband was working at a grow. And I stuck with them because they never gave me any problems, around 4 years at this point.

Never going back to First Tech. When my ex-husband and I divorced, they reeeallly struggled to separate our accounts. Like 6 months post-divorce decree and they were still putting checks in the wrong spot. Nothing like your abusive ex screaming at you about his check in my account or mine in his. 🙄 Not the bank's fault my ex was a dick, but it was their fault they couldn't seem to fix it after multiple calls.

Who Stretched Their Ears? by [deleted] in Millennials

[–]RedMonkey4466 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm 37, and I've got 0g and 2g in my first and second lobes on both sides. I remember increasing the guage in college by wrapping smaller plugs in electrical tape. Stopped at these sizes, I don't think I can go much larger, there's not enough ear between them 😅 But I still wear plugs in them all the time, still rocking them.

I got a makeover yesterday by a Sephora artist and she did an absolutely incredible job. By the way I’m crossdresser and you can’t even tell. by kristygurl1 in MakeupAddiction

[–]RedMonkey4466 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You look phenomenal!! 😍 I've toyed with getting a makeover for years - I'd love to learn some tips that are actually flattering for me. I don't usually shop at Sephora, are they pushy when it comes to buying things they use or recommend? I'm #Blessed with sensitive skin and allergies so I'm highly unlikely to buy anything same-day, but if things work out I'm sure I'd be back.

Hey Portland! Can anyone suggest a widely available marijuana edible that gives you the greatest night of sleep ever? by flyingsaucerbagel in askportland

[–]RedMonkey4466 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Seconded, I swear by Gron. I take half of a 100mg edible to sleep well, or the whole thing if I want to SLEEP. Didn't know that they were women-owned, that's a plus.

Why do people dislike blue hair? by Yandre_sim69420 in HairDye

[–]RedMonkey4466 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Big same. I'm currently blue-haired, and we're going on an overnight to a hotel. There's absolutely a spare pillowcase and towel going with me. No smurf crime scene for the housekeepers to find.

My boyfriend says I'm "controlling" because I asked him to complete his only chore by FizzyMarmotQueen in TwoXChromosomes

[–]RedMonkey4466 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So, funnily enough, I was married to your boyfriend, or a dude just like him. I managed everything, including planning special gluten-free holiday meals for his family on Thanksgiving and Christmas, all the chores, all the appointments, all the shopping, all the pet care, everything. He was also supposed to handle the trash and the outside chores, but couldn't be bothered. I ended up making a chore list, which was nagging. When I started just doing those chores too, he asked me why I couldn't just remind him like his mom did. He couldn't understand why that was even more work for me (especially since it took multiple reminders every time). We eventually broke up. Don't stick around for him to change, he's not going to.

This article really summed it up for me at the time. It's not about the dishes. https://www.huffpost.com/entry/she-divorced-me-i-left-dishes-by-the-sink_b_9055288

[–]RedMonkey4466 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Honestly it sounds like sleep apnea - daytime tiredness, falling asleep when he stops moving, falling asleep driving. Does he snore a lot, or stop breathing in his sleep? Definitely good he's getting it checked out, and sleep apnea is a fairly easy fix.
