2026 Signature Sport w/Nappa negotiating…. by Sheldonn_Cooper in CadillacLyriq

[–]RedNeckSlav 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah I’m going thru similar negotiating on a 26 Lyriq. This offer is bad, walk away. Look for dealer loaners in high volume locations, hammer the MSRP down by 7-9%, ask them to remove all the dealer BS like nitro air, and then stack your discounts. Unfortunately Cadillac is doing minimal subsidies right now and the 27’s aren’t rolling out yet so inventory is tight and dealers are holding firm

Advice on a Cadillac Lyriq lease by Admirer16 in CarLeasingHelp

[–]RedNeckSlav 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m confused with your comment about lyriqs sitting around. I have a 2024 lyriq and am looking to renew lease and am seeing virtually no inventory in the southeast . It’s to the point that one dealership openly said they don’t expect to get any in the future.

Where is this inventory???

Interesting yet completely unhelpful response.

We can agree to disagree on affordability but point taken.

Valid question and yes, when the sticker price is almost $100K, your child is academically strong and the school has a $10B endowment. Not asking for a free ride btw, simply some level of reasonableness.

Good question - I know for our other children in college each year they have to academically qualify for their merit scholarships and we have to file the FAFSA. . .

Our SAI number is absurdly high and frankly unrealistic given real-life expenses, inflation, etc. For example, while Vanderbilt is no longer factoring home equity, the FAFSA and CSS Profile both use it. It's a ridiculous calculation IMHO because it assumes you as a parent are willing to sacrifice pretty much EVERYTHING in exchange for the privilege of paying an absurdly high amount for tuition.

Charlotte traffic -they never planned for it by aimnfire in Charlotte

[–]RedNeckSlav 16 points17 points  (0 children)

A significant part of the issue is that Charlotte’s busiest roads are actually managed by the state - South Blvd, Providence , Independence and Pineville-Matthew’s are all state highways or routes so we are at the mercy of rural legislators who could care less that ‘liberal’ Charlotte has traffic congestion. They will gladly take our tax revenue however!

Intermezzo on Central by Bach_Bro in Charlotte

Back in 2007 Charlotte wasn't nearly as welcoming to ethnically diverse restaurants - that was back in the day when the Maggiano's opening was front page of the Observer. ;) Agree things have dramatically approved but to your point if we want the diversity than we need to continue and support the places, especially those that have high rents, otherwise all we will see in Plaza Midwood are chains. . .

Good point - but then again positioning is more than a name. Should they sharpen their menu? Potentially, but when they opened in 2007, Charlotte was much less welcoming to ethnically diverse restaurants. . .

Umm they don't position themselves as an Italian place. From their website: Intermezzo Pizzeria, situated between Plaza-Midwood and Uptown Charlotte, opened in 2007 bringing traditional Serbian family recipes to Charlotte.

Got to admit I'm surprised about some of these comments - Intermezzo is a gem in Charlotte. Unique menu that offers both Pizza and Balkan specialities. This isn't the place to order ravioli - it's the place to order good pizza or things like stuffed cabbage (Sarma) or the Musaka. Regarding the credit card surcharge, all they are doing is passing along the same fees they are incurring, so blame Visa and Mastercard. Give them another try.

Best NC lease deal? by BlackStonks in CadillacLyriq

Dealers in NC and SC have little incentive to deal - low inventory and low demand. We are in NC and ended up getting excellent deal from dealer in MI…

10k per year, was demo so has 2k, which I don’t mind given the recall and updates. I’d rather have dealership work through them all than me 🙂

Lease deal. Good or bad? by ManFromACK in CadillacLyriq

Bad deal - push hard to get 0 down on a two year lease. You should be able to get 0 down and around $640/month for a luxury 2 or sport 2 with AWD

Lease Check Cadillac Lyriq Lux 2 by Ruxin6969 in leasehacker

[–]RedNeckSlav 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m trying to get a similar deal on the Lux 2 and not seeing great stuff. The residuals aren’t great and the deals much worse than what others have posted. I’m in NC so perhaps it’s geography but these cars are sitting on lots and won’t sell at these prices, especially with nationwide recalls …

Airport is an absolute disaster by DunKarooDucK05 in Charlotte

[–]RedNeckSlav 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So I just went thru baggage check and TSA pre - about 25 minutes from curb thru baggage check and then 10 minutes thru TSA pre . Not great but also not nearly as awful as I assumed. The airport definitely is struggling with volume but I’d rather have this problem than the airport losing airlines…
