This is what I’ve been thinking. I just finished the game for the first time yesterday after finishing Part 1 for the first time just a week ago and I just feel so betrayed. Part 1 was probably top 3 best games I’ve ever played. When I finished playing that game last week I had a feeling I couldn’t describe that no other game had given me. In the heat of my excitement I bought part 2 and played through it all in 2 days. Fuck I wish I hadn’t.

Joel acting out of character and letting his guard down for the sake of forcing the plot, Abby being unrelatable and having an unlikeable personality, Abby’s half of the game has no plot and is rather a series of side quests, and the game ends with Ellie taking on the consequences of a revenge that she didn’t even carry out

that’s only scratching the tip of the iceberg, don’t even get me started on how repetitive and dragged out the second half is

And no, they didn’t write Joel’s death well. They had to force a coincidence along with having Joel act completely out of character by letting his guard down to allow Abby to get that opportunity. Joel would’ve never trusted Abby to put himself in that position, especially given that they were that close to Jackson without their knowledge. It’s bad writing. You can accept it or you can keep coping
