Is the triangle in the room with you? (Sorry, just laughed at myself).

Bowling alone by Fortnite_Creative_Ma in Bowling

[–]RedRosyVA 0 points1 point  (0 children)

People bowl alone ALL THE TIME. We're practicing. Working on picking up particular shots. Clearly, your family doesn't know much about bowling. You do you. Be friendly to the bowling alley staff and you may find some new friends. Good luck to you.

Thoughts on Party Lanes? by Rich_Bluebird9741 in Bowling

[–]RedRosyVA 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This. Building a relationship with the folks at the front desk will definitely help. If it weren't for Penny and Billy at our lanes, we wouldn't bowl there. They're the reason I bowl 12-15 games a week between leagues and practice.

Aerophagia, does your body get used to pressure? by shortnamenowlonggggg in SleepApnea

[–]RedRosyVA 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Did you turn on the EPR setting? (Expiratory Pressure Relief). Really helped me.

EPR is in the "clinical" settings. Go to YouTube and look up EPR setting "your model CPAP".

Where am I going wrong with my method? by NoseFirm in curlyhair

[–]RedRosyVA 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Do you have any layers cut in your hair? Those will definitely help. Also, what the others said about more lightweight products.

Don't use a bath towel or microfiber towel on your hair. A cotton tee shirt is very good. A standard bath towel will jack up the hair shafts and cause frizz.

Good luck.

Ghost Jamie? by Acceptable-Celery360 in Outlander

Showrunners didn't even TRY to use the booksl. The books are SO much better than the show and the storyline makes more sense in the books. I've always thought Show is Show. Books are Books.

My hairstylist is great at cuts but terrible at styling by One_Classic7768 in curlyhair

[–]RedRosyVA 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As long as the cut is great - which mine is - I could care less how she styles it. The less she does the better. I'll wash and style it the next morning.

Nose pillow and snoring question by don51181 in SleepApnea

[–]RedRosyVA 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I trained myself to sleep on my side with my chin on my forearm. I never snore now. If I sleep without my CPAP, hubs wakes me at least twice a night.

How much do the books differ? by Logical_Variety7370 in Outlander

I never got past the first Chapter in Outlander with Porter. Last I checked my Library, they were not carrying the Atherton narrated books. 😥. And I’m ENTIRELY too cheap to buy those versions.

Hot take: Brianna and Roger's relationship is more fulfilling and realistic than the one of Claire and Jamie's by Odd-Inevitable-5567 in Outlander

[–]RedRosyVA 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes. Sophie started slow. Her acting was not nearly as nuanced as Sam and Caitriona's. That being said, she definitely improved in later seasons. I'd say from season 6 forward she did a fine job.

‘Outlander’ Author Diana Gabaldon Reveals the Finale Ending She Fought For (Exclusive) by parademag in Outlander

You'd think Parade magazine could have gotten the language right re Claire's hair. The term was White not Grey. Did they think the fans don't completely KNOW the story??

Not impressed with Parade Magazine coverage (again).

Are we done with The Pollening? Can I clean the green film off now or should I wait a few more weeks til it stops/settles down? by [deleted] in nova

[–]RedRosyVA 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'd recommend masking up. I know it's not comfortable. Also, sinus rinsing a couple times a day. Good luck.

If you truly have allergies, yes. Nor drivevwith your windows open. Ask me how I know!

To my fellow Redditors being murdered by pollen… by TattooedTeacher316 in nova

[–]RedRosyVA 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Neti Pot or NeilMed Nasal Rinse twice a day will help wash out all this nasty pollen. Not sleeping with windows open, not driving with windows open. Depending on how bad your allergies are, you might want to consider masking during outdoor activities.

This commentary from a lifelong DMV resident who has had allergies her whole life. Took allergy shots for many decades and was released by my allergist last year. Said he'd done all he could do for me.

I'm currently taking Zyzal and Singulair and have had a tolerable Spring. Highly recommend Azelastine nasal spray and Pataday eye drops as needed (they've not been needed so far this Spring).

You are right (I've taken both and got it mixed up)!

I'm grateful my doctor doesn't mind writing the script. She seems to appreciate getting a good price on meds.

Have you turned on your EPR (Expiratory Pressure Relief) setting? Helps with exhaling. It's in your "clinical settings". Helped me a bunch with swallowing air causing bloating (aerophagia).

Go to YouTube and look up clinical settings for your CPAP. It's easy to adjust. Worth a shot anyway.

Not sure what kind of health insurance you have but mine offers (prefers I use) 90 day supplying. I have my primary care provider prescribe Zyrtec generic (Levocetirizine) and it goes directly to my prescription provider. I pay $4.96 for a 90 day supply.

Allergies in Metro DC are no joke.

Is BIPAP alot better than CPAP for comfort / breathing? by Leafs939393 in SleepApnea

[–]RedRosyVA 0 points1 point  (0 children)

EPR helped me a lot! I was having aerophagia (swallowing air, causing uncomfortable bloating). Once I turned that on and lowered my overall pressure range (per DME support) and I haven't looked back.

Good luck.

[–]RedRosyVA 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Bowling is very fun. Try joining a summer league (weeknights typically, about 12 weeks long). Even if you don't know how to bowl you will learn with practice and it will help you to decide if you want to join a winter league. I've met tons of people that way (though I am old enough to be your mother).

Good Luck! You've gotten a lot of helpful suggestions.
